I awoke in a strange room, I slowly looked around to find I was alone. Though the couch I laid on was comfortable, my muscles were sore. I laid still for a moment thinking back to what had happened today, wondering to myself if everything was simply a dream.

"Skylar?" Mel's voice startled me, I sat up.

"Yes?" I struggled to sit up straight, feeling as if I was hit with a ton of bricks.

"How are you feeling, fish bait?" he smiled at his own joke.

"Like I've been beaten with a pillowcase full of soap bars," I replied with a chuckle. "Possibly as if I was hit by a small car."

"Well I could see that," Mel paused taking a seat next to me on the sofa. "Well I suppose we have some things to discuss."

"So I wasn't dreaming?" I laughed, sighing into a comfortable slouch.

"No definitely not," Mel laughed, pausing in an attempt to find the right words. My eyes wondered around the room, a table of snacks, a wall of mirrors and chairs set up with make up and hair supplies, a pile of clothes and bags in the corner. I had hoped this wasn't Mel's way of suggesting a makeover. "Skylar, the man that we were looking for the son of the stranger as you say."

I nodded, eyes still searching the room, "Well he was here tonight, in San Francisco in an attempt of looking for someone to kidnap in order to trade said person for you."

"Trade?" I laughed, "This isn't monopoly."

"Skylar he was here looking for Jc." Mel said quickly, "The O2L boys have been on tour for the past couple months, tonight was the last show, the man was looking to kidnap Jc in order to get you in a trade."

"The boy that yelled my name! When I looked into the light that was Jc!" I felt tears streaming down my face again, uncontrollable hormones I suppose.

"Skylar, please listen." Melman paused running his fingers through his hair. "Jc was the one yelling your name. We captured the man and have him in custody, he won't be getting out anytime soon. Jc jumped in the after you once you fell through the floor. Though he could have ruined things, he didn't. He simply wanted to make sure you were ok. Though you appeared disoriented and out of breath, assuming because he landed on you. You passed out, he carried you into here and went to finish the show with the other boys."

"So, if I follow things correctly, I am now free. I am able to be out of your protection because the suspect is in custody and Jc is here to take me home!" I felt excitement build inside of me, I wanted nothing more than to see Jc, hug him, kiss him, simply hear his voice say my name. I had never truly enjoyed hearing my name until he said it.

"There is more I need to inform you of," Mel's eyes were full of sadness I knew something had to be wrong. "During your time away things changed." I felt a lump grow in my throat, I knew that this couldn't possibly end well. "Skylar, Jc has a girlfriend. Lia Marie Johnson." And in that moment my world came crashing down. Everything that I had waited for, was gone in that moment. I was alone, on my own again. And honestly I didn't know if I could handle it.
