Getting off the plane in California was like coming home. We were greeted by Ricky, Kian, Jenn, Andrea, Sam, and Trevor at the gate. All saying they would have brought Wishbone if security would let them. We were passed through hug after hug, something I had never experienced before.
"I'm sorry I gave Jc your Aunt's address. I just had to, he was so upset and loves you so much." Andrea said before pulling me in for a hug.
"It's ok, thank you for doing what I was too afraid to do." I said releasing her from a second hug. I had never had a sister before but I imagined that Andrea was as close as I would get.
"I'm starving, let's go eat!" Kian yelled, startling everyone.
"Panera!" Ricky screamed louder.
"It's always panera with this guy," Jenn laughed.
"Because his blood stream is 95% Panera bread," Sam laughed.
We piled into cars to go to the restaurant as Trevor serenaded us with various clips of songs he was currently obsessed with.
"I love you," Jc whispered into my ear.
"I love you too," I said kissing him on the cheek.
"PDA!" Jenn yelled from the driver's seat.
As we unloaded and headed into the restaurant I looked around at the friends surrounding me. I had three wonderful guardian angels watching over me. And I was surrounded by a tight knit family on Earth. Family I realized isn't defined by who's blood is whose. Family is about who loves and cares for you the most. I knew that I was loved and cared for by the best people I could have found. I'm a lucky girl despite what people say. My second chance at life wouldn't go to waste. I used to think that happily ever afters didn't exist, but now I know they do.
