Jc's POV

I laid on top of the roof, wishing I had brought a pillow or something, the flat concrete was beginning to feel uncomfortable. Looking up at the stars felt calming, allowed me to clear my thoughts. It had been almost two months since the last show of our tour and the last time I saw Skylar. Everything had changed since then. Connor had left O2L, people were shocked but we all knew it was coming. We tried to show him our support but deep down all the guys were slightly disappointed knowing things wouldn't be the same. We moved into a new house, I had to admit this house was better. It was nice to change things up, but our neighbors are assholes. Makes it kind of hard to enjoy a new home when the people around you are asses. I started putting all of my energy into videos. It helped distract me from what was going on in my life. Making two videos a week helped take up time that I otherwise would have used thinking about Sky or Lia. It helped but the nights were always the hardest. It's tough to sleep when your mind is always somewhere else, wondering if you fucked up or if everything was meant to be.

I watched a plane sail across the sky, appearing as if it was cutting through the stars. I need to get out of here, I thought to myself. Maybe a change of place would be good for me, clear my mind. Maybe I needed to go home for a bit, get some home cooking, see my momma, play with Wishbone, and hang out with my siblings, maybe even venture down to my dads. I closed my eyes, dude just go for it I thought. I jumped up and off the roof on to the patio where Ricky was sitting.

"Hey I didn't even know you were up there!" Ricky jumped, surprised.

"Yeah I've been up there for like two hours," I laughed. Talking to Ricky was always easy, he listened no matter what you had to say and gave advice like he was an old man. He is and always has been wise beyond his years.

"What's up? I couldn't sleep, I think it's new house jitters." Ricky laughed looking out off the balcony at the amazing view we had obtained with the house.

"I couldn't sleep either. My minds racing, I thought of something stupid but I need you to give your honest opinion."

"Yikes, this sounds serious," Ricky straightened in his chair turning to face me as I took a seat across from him.

"I think I wanna go home," I said staring as his expression changed.

"This is our home now, we know the lease was up and we can't afford that house without Connor helping. Besides this house has some better qualities compared to the other. The hot tub works here, the-"

I cut him off, "No dude not that home. I wanna go to Texas."

"Wait hold up move to Texas or visit?" he was concerned.

"Visit dumbass!" I laughed.

"Oh good, I was about to say please don't leave me with only Kian. I'll have to kill him." Ricky laughed. "So you wanna go home for a visit?"

"Yeah."

"Then go? What's stopping you? You haven't been home in a while." Ricky said taking a drink from his cup.

"The last time I went home," I paused hoping Ricky would pick up the hint, he didn't. "I didn't go alone."

"So," Ricky said catching on.

"So it's gonna be awkward. I know there will be questions about her and I'm not sure if I can handle that. They all loved Skylar, telling them that she's disappeared off the face of the Earth will be hard."

"Jc!" Ricky yelled, "You can't avoid going home simply because the last time you went you brought her! You'll never go if you keep thinking like that, stop!"

"Ok dude!" I yelled back.

"Go book a plane ticket, go home!" Ricky yelled.

"Ok," I said smiling.

"I mean it! Go right now!" Ricky yelled louder.

"Shut up!" our neighbor hollered over loudly.

"Thank you!" I yelled back.

"Freaking idiots!" the neighbor yelled again.

"We have such great fans," Ricky said waving in the direction the voice came from.
