Jc's POV
I stood on the front porch for five minutes before I gained enough courage to ring the door bell. This felt so surreal like a dream, but I knew I was in control. I waited for five more minutes before ringing it again, no answer. My heart sank, what if she was inside and saw that it was me and chose to ignore it. I looked to the drive way, no cars, maybe no one was home. I stepped off the the porch and looked around at the neighborhood, I took a seat on the cement step, I would wait all night if I had to.
I pulled out my phone, ignoring the hundreds of text messages that being in group chats came with and clicked on my photos. I flipped past the ones of Lia, wanting to delete them but knowing that Lia would always be a friend to me. I flipped past pictures of the tour, remembering the great times we had. Flipped past more pointless screen shots and more until I found them, the photos of Skylar. I zoomed in looking at how happy we were. Knowing now that a man was after her and she had to leave by government policies, I felt selfish for everything I said to her the day she tried to explain. I felt like a total asshole for tearing up her good bye note and finding another girl. I was an asshole. I wished I had paid attention to the clues she tried to leave me, to what she was really trying to say. I zoomed in on the first photo I had of us, back when she was still in hiding and we went to the beach for the first time, some fans snapped a few pics and blew up twitter. The pictures were blurry but I still loved them, mostly because that was the day I realized I loved her. I hadn't know her long but I loved her. When you meet someone and you click with them and you know they're going to be your girl or boy or what have you, there is a moment when you realize that you love them. It may be something simple like they ask if you have your seat belt on, they laugh at your stupidest joke, maybe they hold your hand in a way that sends tingles down your arm. For me it was the way she looked at me, it sent tingles through my entire body. She wasn't looking at me like I was a youtuber, a weirdo, or a random guy. She looked at me as if I was the only one in her world that mattered. When she would laugh, she threw her head back and her eyes would sparkle like diamonds. I knew she was the one before I even knew her real name.
A car turned into the drive way, my heart raced. An older woman stepped out of the small car giving me a strange look.
"Whatever you're selling I don't need or want it," she said wiping her eyes.
"Oh I'm not selling anything," I laughed, sounded like something my mom would say. "I'm actually looking for someone but perhaps I have the wrong address. My friend gave it to me and she might have been lying after all."
"Well this is my house," she said looking me up and down.
"Yeah, I figured since you pulled in the drive way."
"Wait a second," she paused wiping her eyes once more staring directly into my eyes.
"I'm looking for Skylar," I paused taking a deep breath. "I'm Jc Caylen, I hope she has mentioned me once or twice at least. But I need to find her, you see I made some mistakes with her. I may have lost her forever and I simply can't handle that. She's my girl and I need to remind her that we, well were meant to be."
"Oh no," she said running her fingers through her hair. "Jc, she has mentioned you, many times. I know she loves you, but to be honest I think she is afraid to admit it, afraid you will find another girl again. But she did live here with me for a while, but I'm afraid that I just dropped her off at the airport."
"You did what?" I was in shock.
"She wanted to go home so I bought her a flight home, I can't deny her that after everything she has been through!" she said tears streaming down her face, it was a few moments before I realized I too was crying.
"No no no! I need to find her! I need to make this right, she's the one! Do you understand?" I yelled.
"All I can say is her flight is already boarded. Franklin, Tennessee. She wanted to she her family." she said heading to the door. "And Jc?"
"Yeah?"
"Hurt my niece and I'll kick your ass." she said entering the home.
I pulled out my phone first calling uber and then the airport. It was time for an adventure, I was going empty handed but I planned to come back hand in hand with my girl.
