Sitting in the car I kept my head down, I didn't want to see the world pass by around me. I wanted to pretend that this was a dream, that I wasn't truly going to present myself as bait like this. Yet in my heart I knew that this was what I had to do, I had to make sure that this man was caught in order to give myself the freedom that I liked to think I deserved. Before I knew it Mel was stopping the car, I felt my stomach sink into my butt as he tapped slowly on the steering wheel twice. Knowing that was my signal I pushed open the car door with great force. I tried to focus on looking for the girl in the green hoodie, attempting to block out the sounds of voices, booming music, and city noises around me. Once I spotted her I followed quickly behind, she was walking fast almost jogging, it was hard to keep up yet I felt my legs moving faster and faster with every thought of the possibility of freedom. I watched as the girl entered through a heavy steel door, I followed quickly.

Darkness surrounded me, I felt a firm grip on my arm tugging me along. Though I felt my heart beating rapidly, I could have sworn I was no longer living. It all felt like a movie playing out on the big screen. I felt a push and heard a door click closed behind me, nothing but darkness. I tugged at Jc's hoodie tightening it around my body, I was hot but it felt somewhat comforting as if he wasn't truly so far away from me after all.

"Skylar, I want you to know that you did very well. I am ever so proud of you but you need to keep in mind that was the easy stuff compared to what is next." Mel's voice boomed through my ear, I wished that I could have spoken back to him. "Your family would be very proud. I know I am." I felt a few tears stream down my cheeks, I hadn't realized that I was crying but it didn't surprise me either. It felt as if I stood waiting for Mel's queue for hours though I knew it had barely been minutes. "Skylar, hang in there. It will be go time soon!" Mel's voice startled me once more. I wanted nothing more than to joke back to him about how impatient he knows I am yet I knew this mission had to be completed alone. It was up to me to maintain composure and carry out this task I was present. I wiped the tears from my face and attempted to put my game face on. "Skylar, move!" Mel's voice rang through my ear piece louder than ever before. I pushed forward on the door with great force, more than was truly necessary for the light wooden door. Running full speed ahead I focused solely on listening for Melman's voice to ring through my ear once more. I was hot and panicked yet I tried to remain brave and fearless of what might be there to see when I stopped. "Stop!" I heard, I skidded to a stop, my knees clicking as I applied such pressure into stopping precisely when I was told.

I looked down, now it had become aparent that the room was too loud to understand anything else Mel could say through the ear piece. I stared for a moment at my feet shifting my weight back and forth from left to right before looking directly up into the lights. I felt blinded, closing my eyes quickly yet still seeing the white light through my eyelids. I heard screams and felt footsteps around me, I could do nothing but wait for the drop that was promised me.

"Skylar!" I heard a familiar voice scream louder than all the rest. I fought the urge to turn toward the booming voice, trying to remain calm and patient. "Sky!" I heard once more, as I fell through the floor. I was caught off guard, landing on the air bag with such force I felt as if all the air in my lungs had been knocked out of me. I felt a great weight on top of me, so heavy I lost my breath. Screaming for help I lost myself for moments, the thoughts of what I truly was doing catching up to me. I tightened my eyes shut though through my eyelids I only saw darkness.

"You could have ruined everything!" I heard Mel's voice echo, through my ear piece and my ears. "What were you thinking?"

"I'm sorry!" I screamed out, trying to catch my breath as I curled myself into a ball.
