When Friday came, Lexa happily packed her bag without a care in the world. She was going to visit her dad again. Lexa only really got to visit him every month or so.
Unlike Lexa, Leon didn't feel like going. However, in the end his mom, in a way, forced him to. Lexa's mom wanted her kids to have a connection with their dad, she thought that it would be unhealthy if they wouldn't.
Lexa's dad picked them up on Saturday morning. Lexa's dad lived in the city so it was an hour long drive to get there. Yes, it was quite boring. Lexa kept trying to get Leon to play I-spy with her but he didn't want to.
When they finally got there, Lexa and Leon grabbed their backpacks and walked up to the place that their dad lived in, he lived in a penthouse.
"Why would mom dump someone who has a lot of money?" Whispered Lexa to Leon as they walked to the elevator.
"Relationships aren't all about money, Lexa," whispered Leon back.
They got into the elevator.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.
The 10th floor, the highest one.
Lexa and Leon each had a room to themselves.
They both went to their rooms and unpacked their backpacks which consisted of 50% clothes and 50% technology.
Lexa went into her dad's office, he was by the computer and was talking on the phone.
"When are you going to finish your wor-" Lexa began.
Lexa's dad stood up and quickly put his phone into his pocket. "Lexa, there's something I need to do at work, you can stay home by yourself with Leon, right?"
"Sure, after all you'll only be gone like a couple minutes right?"
He scratched his head and sighed. "Lexa, do you remember when I took you to visit my workplace last time you visited me?"
"Um, yeah, I do," Lexa replied.
"Do you remember how long it took us to get there?"
"I guess about fifteen minutes," she said.
"Exactly so that's thirty minutes there and back. Plus, it will take me roughly ten minutes to fix the machines. It will take forty minutes, Lexa." He fixed his tie and walked out the room. "It might take a bit longer, but definitely not longer than an hour, bye!"
Lexa heard the door close at the end of the corridor. She walked out of her dad's office and looked down the corridor. "Jerk... I know he needs his money, but who chooses cash over their kids!?"
"I know right..." agreed Leon. He patted Lexa on the back. "You know what, how about we have some fun. We have an entire penthouse to ourselves, let's make the most of it! Wanna go on the swing in the living room?"
"Wow, you're actually happy."
"Shut up, midget."
Whilst Leon pushed Lexa on the swing, they were completely unaware that Arrith was hunting down Lexa.
Arrith checked Lexa's house but to the demon's surprise she wasn't there.
But Arrith didn't give up. She looked at the two scars on her wrist. Lexa had cut off her hand twice. Twice! No way she was going to let Lexa get away with that. She didn't even want Lexa's soul anymore. She just wanted the little brat to be dead and gone from her life.
Arrith wasn't that powerful compared to other demons. She could only use her powers a little bit everyday. Arrith could easily track down Lexa, but that would mean she wouldn't have the power to attack Lexa. She could only use so much. It really sucked for Arrith.
