Mango was hushed and the only thing you could hear was his tail as it wagged against the kitchen floor. His dreams were filled with theories of the universe, quadratics and other typical stuff that everyone dreams about.
Lexa on the other hand slept with no thoughts whatsoever, her mind was blank and isolated from all emotions. Well, except for the tiny hint of anger that was in her because Azura never asked Mango what his favorite food or color was...
The open window let the wind in which made the curtains dance. The black trees screamed and the moon sang. The night was here.
Lexa was still, completely unaware of everything surrounding her. Unaware of the fact that Arrith had created a portal from Hell inside of her very bedroom.
Everything remained quiet until an incredibly bright flash of light suddenly came from Lexa's wardrobe. The brightness of it made Lexa open her eyes. Realizing what was happening, Lexa sat up. She stared at her own wardrobe in a complete state of shock. "Is Narnia inside of my wardrobe? what?"
The door of the wardrobe opened and out stepped a very frustrated looking Arrith. "It seems the portal ended up being made inside of your wardrobe..."
Lexa looked up at Arrith's head and laughed.
"What are you giggling at you midget!? I'm a demon! I can kill you!"
"Who cares if you're a demon or not, either way I can't take you seriously in that fedora." Lexa laughed again.
"What?" Arrith tapped her head to find a fedora there. She took it off and threw it angrily back into the wardrobe. "I don't have time for this okay? You're going to die whether you like it or not. I've waited long enough."
"Um, could we settle this over a pint..?"
Arrith didn't listen to Lexa. She took out a shard of glass, the same one that she used to kill Azura with. This was it.
Arrith leaped forward and aimed for Lexa's head but Lexa dodged it. Lexa ended up being cornered by Arrith. The demon lifted the shard.
Now, this would've been the end of Lexa, but suddenly, there was a flutter. A flutter of wings. Arrith and Lexa both went quiet.
...
"TWEET TWEET!!" A bluebird flew in through the open window, it was Azura.
And that, my friends, was the story of how Azura got stabbed, reincarnated as a bird and then proceeded to peck a demon's eyeballs out.
Arrith covered her face with her hands. She was shocked, not because an innocent, tiny bird had just attacked her, but because she was not expecting that at all.
Whilst Arrith was on the floor, Lexa grabbed her and dragged the demon to the portal inside of the wardrobe.
Arrith went through the portal. The portal then disappeared.
Azura turned back to normal, Lexa looked at her.
"I guess Mango was right then about the whole 'demon coming to kill you' thing. That thing is way too smart to be a dog. I say you make him pay rent."
"Azura," Lexa began. "Your arm..."
"What?" Azura had so much adrenaline in her that she didn't feel Arrith stab her wing when she was attacking her. Now that she was a human, her arm was bleeding.
Azura didn't dare look. "Is-Is it bad..?"
"If there's a huge cut on on your arm and it's bleeding a lot-and I mean a lot-then would you think that's bad?"
Azura paused. "Lexa, I am going to literally die if you don't help me right now."
"Do I look like a doctor!?"
"Do you not even have a first aid kit!?" Asked Azura.
"Nope."
"Oh, yeah, that helps."
"I should just call an ambula-"
"No," said Azura. "My god, if my mom finds out she'll kill me!"
"You don't need to worry about your mom killing you, it already looks as if you're about to die."
"I'm just gonna go home and patch it up.."
"But you aren't a doctor either! If there's a big piece of glass sticking out of your arm then maybe you shouldn't just go home. Let me call the ambulance Azur-"
"No. No hospitals."
There was a silence for a moment.
"Lila would know what to do, should we go to her? Her house is only two minutes away after all," requested Lexa.
"At this time of night? I doubt she'll care," said Azura.
"But this is literally a life or death situation!"
Azura blacked out for a couple of seconds from how much blood she had lost but quickly came back to her senses. "Let's just go then."
When they got to Lila's house, Azura told Lexa to call her instead of knocking. They didn't want to wake up Lila's parents.
Lila picked up the phone. "Lexa? Why are you calling me? It's 12:00 at night!"
"Yeah, well that's too bad, you need to let me in, now," demanded Lexa.
"Unless it's a life or death situation then I don't want to hear it."
"It is."
"What!? What the hell happened!?"
"It's a long story, but all you need to know is that Azura is bleeding right now and will die soon if you don't help us."
"... Hang on." Lila hung up the phone.
A couple seconds later the door opened. "Get in," said Lila in a quiet voice. "If you wake up my parents I'm kicking you both out."
Lexa, Azura and Lila went to the kitchen. Lila opened a cupboard and took out a first-aid kit. As Lila treated Azura's wounds, Lexa sat at the table and watched. She was amazed at how smart Lila was. She knew how to do everything to help Azura and she did it well too. Incredible.
Ring ring!
Lexa picked up her phone, "hello?"
"Lexa, where are you?" Asked Leon
"I'm at Lila's house..?"
"At night? Wow, you better pray that mom doesn't find out."
"This is an emergency, okay?"
"Look, I'm coming over to see what the heck is happening." Leon hung up.
"Crap."
Lila finished working on Azura's wounds. "I'm done. Now all I need to do is clean the blood on your arm and then you can go and get the heck out of here. I'm so damn tired..."
Leon called Lexa and told her to open the door. After Lexa let him in, he walked into the kitchen and stared at the blood on the kitchen table. "Okay. Maybe this was an emergency after all..."
Lila glanced over at Leon and then looked at his shirt that had the Fortnite logo on it. "You play Fortnite? I bet you play it for like ten hours a day. Pfft."
"And I bet you study for twenty hours a day."
"At least I'm not stupid like you."
"Shut up and 1V1 me."
"I could kill you in five seconds you bush camper."
Leon grabbed Lexa's hand and started to walk out of the kitchen. "I. WILL. WRECK. YOU." Leon and Lexa left.
"Thank you for helping me, I should leave now too before my mom finds out that I'm not at home..." She got out of her chair.
"Bye. Wait, how did you even get stabbed in the first place?" Asked Lila.
Azura rolled her eyes. "It's a really, really long story, trust me." Azura walked out of the room and then she left too, leaving Lila all by herself.
"That... was normal."
