[ C A R A 'S P O V ]
Sullivan, Kaluuya and I were lounging on the leather couch watching fights go down while drinking our hearts away. I think Sullivan likes me as much as Kaluuya and that's saying a lot.
"KITTY!" Kaluuya scolds and his accent thick in those words as I reach for the next drink. "You've been drinking too much for your own good, kitty." He says. Kitty sounding so different in his mouth with that accent. I grumble while folding my hands on my chest trying my best to look upset.
"Here, take this. Otherwise you will regret everything." Sullivan says while shoving a bottle to my side. I sigh heavily and gulp down the liquid.
"Kitty, tell me what you are trying to distract yourself from." Kaluuya says while plopping down on the couch. I check my position and realise I had slid down to the carpeted floor somehow. I sit between Kaluuya's legs and he starts to play with my hair. I settle calmly.
"I'll tell you if you both tell me." I say with mischief glinting in my eyes. Sullivan sighs, "We drink all the time, princessa." He says and I feel a pang in my heart. "Is it pain that you are running from?" I ask and Sullivan looks at me with a small smile but his eyes twinkling with warmth and sadness.
"Yes. Yes it is." He says and I hold his hand and I smile at him. "It's going to be okay. Nothing Sully Sullivan Rodez Rodriguez the badass can't handle." I say and he laughs at me. He squeezes my hand in his. "Thank you, princessa." He says with a genuine smile. I grin widely again. My cheeks are going to hurt. I bend my neck backwards to look at Kaluuya.
"What about you, Kaluuya?" I say and he pushes my head back so he can braid my hair. "I am running from pain as well, Kitty. All of us are hurting inside." He says and my shoulders slump. "What's wrong, Kitty?" Kaluuya says while forcing my shoulders to them. I face them while sitting cross legged now. "I want to help the both of you but I don't know how." I say while my chest tightens.
"You can't help us with our problems, Princessa." Sullivan says and I pout. "Maybe you should visit more often, Kitty. This is the happiest we've felt in ages." Kaluuya says and I smile. "Do you mean that?" I ask and Sullivan and Kaluuya nod vigorously.
Sullivan rubs my arm and questions me, "What's happening to you?" He asks and I pout again. "It's this boy." I say while looking down with shame. Kaluuya and Sullivan laugh. "I'm not in love with him." I say while glaring at the two. They stare at me in confusion.
"It's just that- this boy comes into my life and suddenly everything I have done to keep my past locked in has escaped. I can't seem to have control over my feelings and emotions and my past." I rant not looking up at them even once.
"And now the boy has run away and I am all alone with all these things to handle and-and-and with these new emotions and this thing-" I sigh heavily. "A new set of feelings that I don't know anything properly about." I say pouting at them. "Kitty, you are beautiful and strong inside and out. I am sure you will be alright." Kaluuya says. I smile at him. "Yes princessa and if this boy gives you too much trouble. Tell us. We will beat him up." Sullivan says and I nod.
"I love you guys." I say while hugging their legs. I hear the rumble of their laughter fill the room while shouts and commentary erupt from the television. "We love you too, kitty." Kaluuya says.
I move away from them and we start discussing about food after a while and then Sullivan decides to make us some food. My stomach starts to grumble and all of us start giggling to the sound of my stomach.
