I trudge into the kitchen fully dressed with my bag hanging on my shoulder with sleep dragging at me. "Morning, sunshine." Will says mockingly. I cast a very fake smile at him which he chuckles at.

I groan while I hoist myself into the kitchen stool. Wendy studies me thoroughly before handing me my toast and egg. I groan a thank you. "Jeez, Care bear. What crawled up your ass?" Will asks. Without missing a beat, Wendy gasps and swats her sons arm.

I lazily smirk at this. Will murmurs silently before Wendy breaks the silence. "Cara? What happened? You seem off." She says and I shrug. I was just tired from last night and I really didn't want to face Mr Aiden Jackson. He was actually the last thing I wanted to see. "Can I not go to class?" I ask while stuffing my last piece of toast. "Sorry, Sweetheart but no can do." She says with a stern face. This time Will smirks.

"Thank God. I didn't want to have grinch bringing down the vibes today." He says. Why do kids have to grow up and get annoying? Where the damn fuck do their innocence and compassion disappear? "Wait, you aren't going for classes?" I ask Will while pointing my finger accusingly at him. He shakes his head with a smug look. "That's not fair!" I whine and Wendy only rolls her eyes as a response.

"Do you never go to classes?" I ask while folding my arms and grumbling. Will sticks out his tongue at me. I roll my eyes because I can't flip him off. Wendy and Will would go berserk. Almost immediately the sound of the cars horn breaks our staring contest. I don't break my stare. "Sweetie, your ride is here. Have a good day. Please be a good child!" Wendy says before kissing my head slightly nudging me.

I only groan in response and bid goodbye to mom and stick out my tongue to Will who starts to laugh at my childishness.

I go back to my old grouchy ways and grumble my way into the car. "Hey Care bear." Reggie says and I groan. "Good morning to you, too." Nancy says with a slight shake of head. They were used to my grouchy vibes. Nancy and Reggie are singing some song in the loudest of voices and I'll admit, I really wanted to join them no matter how bad they were at it.

"What's wrong, Cara?" Nancy asks as she turns to face me completely. "I am so damn tired." I say with a frown. I notice we have reached school and get out of Reggie's 'sweet ride'. Reggie quickly drapes his hand on my shoulder and intertwines his fingers with his girlfriend. "What else is up, Princess Grouchy Pants?" Reggie asks.

"Mom and will are hanging out today and I wish I could've stayed back. I really miss sleep, Reg." I answer back. Reggie nods in understanding. "Babe, how come you didn't give Aiden a ride on the way here?" Nancy says. I roll my eyes at her term of endearment for her boyfriend. Reggie diverts his attention to his beloved girlfriend.

"He told me he had things to do before coming here. He was actually gone by 4 in the morning. He told me last night that he didn't require a ride." Reggie says with a distant look and concludes his thoughts with a nonchalant shrug.

I look at my watch and let out a groan. "You guys have class now. I've got library work to attend to." I say with a small salute. Nancy waves at me and walks off in the direction of her class with Reggie in tow.

I walk towards the library with my head in a different cloud. "Earth to my favourite student." Ms Maggie says with a smile. I raise my eyebrow with a smirk on my face. "So that's what I am." I say and she rolls her eyes. "Quick. Let me guide you through your work today." She says while ushering me to the back of the counter. I put my bag down and stand beside Miss Maggie while she begins to explain my work for the day.
