[ C A R A 'S P O V ]
I stood there- perfectly still and barely breathing. Jax looked like a professional the first time. Maybe you were wrong. Or maybe something happened to him. That could be it. "Let's go home, Cara." Del said softly. Dennis and Del looked extremely shocked too so from the looks of it, My inner conscience was wrong. "Yeah, it's already pretty late and don't you have classes tomorrow?" Dennis asks while snapping me from my trance. "I need to make sure he is okay." I say and I receive weird looks from the both of them. "Cara, the last guy you helped was enough for your inner saint. You don't know this guy and he's not a newbie like the last one." Del said with finality in her tone.
I should've listened but I didn't.
"I know him and I need to make sure he is okay." I say with an air of finality and turn to see Dennis looking at me with a slight dissappointment. I don't need this right now. "Fine, kiddo. We'll all go make sure he's alright okay?" Dennis gives in first and then he turns his head to my sister, his girlfriend for final judgement. She gives in and nods.
We separate from the crowd. I follow Dennis and Del because they know where to go and where not to. I see Falcon hurriedly carry Jax in a stretcher with Rodez and Ultimate helping. "All of them are friends?" I ask Dennis who only nods. "Everyone here try to be in good terms. Except for CJ, none of the fighters really like him."
I see Del and Dennis intertwine their hands together from the corner of my eye. I clench my jaw and watch as they scurry off with Jax to the room. "So what do you want to do?" Del asks and I think my uncertainty gives away. "Cara-" She begins but I shake my head. "I guess I'll just follow them?" I say and Del shakes her head. I hadn't noticed we had almost followed the fighters to their area. "It's restricted for the audience to go in there." Dennis says.
I defeatedly let out a heavy breath. "Hija, your boyfriend is in the stretcher. What are you doing here? él es un niño estúpido." Falcon says to me. My eyes widen. How had I not realised Falcon was from Spain?
(Translation: Daughter, your boyfriend is in the stretcher. What are you doing here? He is a stupid young boy.)
Del and Dennis look alarmed. I wave them an I'll explain later and follow Falcon. Thank God for him and thank God for my little knowledge in Spanish thanks to Wendy. Falcon steps into a room with pale walls and a pale ceiling. My eyes finally rest at Jax and the shocked fighters beside him. They all still to the sight of me.
What the fuck are you doing here? Get out while you can.
I gulp and follow Falcon further into the room after he tells me it's okay. "Who are you?" Rodez asks and I can't seem to form sentences. My throat feels parched and I feel like the walls are closing in on me.
Leave. Run. Go.
But I don't. I stay put.
"This is Jax's girlfriend. Hija was freaking out since the fight began and she was pacing around in the entrance of the hall." Falcon says and I turn to stare at him. This man had been watching every single movement of mine. I didn't know whether to thank him or be afraid of him.
He said girlfriend. Correct it while you can't.
I should've but I don't.
