It was October 31st, 2003. Three girls by the names of Sara, Morgan, and Katy. They were planning on sneaking out to a party, since it would be past their curfew. They were so excited, all hoping to meet a few cute boys.

Another girl who didn't particularly like the trio heard about their plans. The girl, Isabella, told their parents about the plan. Naturally, the girls' parents confronted them and most of them were banned from the party, with the exception of Katy.

Isabella and her friend were walking down one of the girls' neighborhood. Isabella began feeling guilty and convinced her friend she should stop and apologize. It turned out that Sara and Morgan would be spending the night instead, so she decides to apologize to them both.

"I'm very sorry for telling your parents; It was a last minute decision solely for revenge," Isabella said, her head bowed in shame.

Morgan looked to Sara with a huge smile. "Of course we forgive you! Wanna come inside though? It's really cold. Plus we have Friday 13th on the telly," Morgan said to Isabella as convincing as possible.

Isabella was fond of the classic horror film and accepted, ignoring the hesitance of her friend. They sat in Morgan's bedroom, waiting for the hosts to finish making the caramel apples they had apparently been working on before.

"Hey," Morgan whispered to Sara. "Whatya think?" Morgan held up a bottle of Ipecac.

Sara's eyes widened. "Are you crazy? Put that up before your mom comes in and finds it!"

Morgan made a "pshh" sound. She separated some caramel from the bowel and poured more than needed in the little section.

"We'll give Isabella and her friend bad apples. We can get them back!" Morgan reasoned.

"How do we tell them apart?" Sara asked.

"Easy. We use colored sticks for theirs." Morgan picked up a red and blue stick.

Not even an hour later the girls were enjoying their caramel apples. Well, except for Isabella and her friend. They took a few bites but it tasted so awful they had to quit.

"Must've gotten a bad apple." Morgan giggled.

A short time later it began getting closer to 8:30, Isabella's curfew. She and her friend left the house, with trick-or-treating goodie bags Morgan's parents were passing out that night.

"Ugh, thank God we have this to make up for those rotten apples!" Isabella's friend said, chewing contently on a Hershey Kiss.

"Y... Yeah." Isabella shivered.

The poor girl had to stop suddenly, her hand resting on a tree. Even in the chill night, she felt flashes. Isabella wasn't sure if they were hot of cold, but they warned her of the sharp excess saliva that would come next. Tale tale signs she was about to be sick.

"What's wrong?" Isabella's friend asked, walking back to her suddenly stopped friend.

"I-" Isabella stopped as the caramel apple previously eaten rushed out of her throat. A loud sound erupted from Isabella as her stomach tightened painfully.

The friend looked away, completely grossed out. "Maybe I should call your parents." She suggested.

The friend flipped open her phone, but found she had no signal. "I'm gonna go quickly find a signal. Stay put." The friend ordered.

Isabella collapsed to the ground as each wave of nausea seemed to be hit immediately afterwards with another. Already her stomach was sore, as was her throat.

The never-ending torture brought on by the two other girls seemed to get worse. When Isabella's friend returned, she yelled out in panic.

"You're vomiting blood!" The friend screeched, seeing a touch of red from the faintly illuminating street light close by.

Isabella tried to stop, but she couldn't. Hitting her and hitting her, Isabella could barely catch her breath.

"Ple-" pause.

"-ase! He-" pause.

"-lp me!" Isabella gasped.

The friend lightly patted Isabella's back and flipped open her phone once more. "I have to walk ahead to get a signal!"

"I-UH!" Isabella stopped when something especially difficult came up her throat. She opened her eyes, clutching her stomach, and nearly screamed.

Isabella was throwing up her insides.

"Help me!" Isabella screamed as loud as she could, past all the sickness that seemed never ending.

Her friend came rushing back when she heard the scream. She sighed before her made her gag, and she nearly vomited herself.

"Dear God! Isabella! We have to get you to someone's house!"

Isabella couldn't move. Everything hurt too much. All she could think was that she begged for death to come soon.

Isabella heard a yacking that wasn't her own and glanced up. The Ipecac had caught up to her friend and now she was joining Isabella.

Just a little too late, a nearby mother came up to the two suffering girls. Isabella was so close to death and her friend was just at the beginning. Luckily there was no blood yet.

The mother had her husband help with the two girls, all the while sternly telling her child to not look. They arrived to the car and placed them in the backseat.

At the hospital Isabella's friend was treated, though it was close. Isabella didn't make it, as her own mother found out hours later. It had taken her a long time to find her daughter.

The friend informed her parents and the doctor about what had happened. When hearing the suspicious story, police were involved. It didn't take long for them to arrest the two guilty girls, and two years later they were finally triad as adults.

Remember this cautionary tale the next time you consider pranking someone cruelly this upcoming Halloween, and especially remember this the next time you're offered a treat.
