36 ~ The Nightmare on Christmas

My cousin and I were driving down a dark, spoopy old road one time. We (and by "we" I mean my uncle, aunt, brother, and cousin) decided to tell scary stories. Here's the tale my cousin told:

One night, on Halloween, my cousin, Cheyenne, was sitting in the living room. Glancing out the window when she thought she heard a knock, Cheyenne saw a guy with a creepy mask on. She jumped but immediately reasoned it was her father.

"Dad, stop it," Cheyenne said annoying.

However, her mom was just in the kitchen and shouted, "he's in the bathroom. What do you need?"

Just then Cheyenne heard the toilet flush. Cheyenne freaked, understandably, and her mom came to the rescue. About the same time, Cheyenne's dad came in. He saw the creepy guy moving away from the window and went outside to chase him.

Falling deep into the safety of the woods, Cheyenne's dad could just make out a few muddy footprints. The guy had gone.

Two months later, around Christmas, Cheyenne was having a sleepover. She invited her friends Samantha and Maria. Together they watched old movies in the living room, while the parents watched a vampire movie in their bedroom. Kinda backwards, right?

Suddenly, the lights when out. The girls got nervous, but when they heard the sound of a door closing, they ran to Cheyenne's parents' bedroom. The father calmed the girls down, went to the breaker right outside the bedroom, and turned the lights back on.

That's when they noticed; Samantha was gone.

Together the family and friend searched for the missing girl. Looking in the bedrooms, and even yelling outside. Nothing.

However, my cousin saw something behind the Christmas tree. Peeking behind it, she saw her friend's dead body– she had found Samantha.

Obviously, Cheyenne screamed. The parents were upset at this, but the father was angry. He grabbed his gun and went outside, while the mom called the police.

Later, Cheyenne's dad came in, saying he found a guy just outside the woods– the same guy, or at least the same mask. Cheyenne's dad chased the boy, but lost him. On close inspection though, Cheyenne's father could see faint snowy prints on the porch, and in the yard.
