The girl rushed through her school as fast as she could. It was the night of the highschool dance, about 70 years ago in Kingsville, Texas. The girl was so excited, and determined to go. She had already bought a beautiful red dress for the event. She knew she would look amazing in it. This was going to be the best night of her life!

However, the girl's mother soon came into her bedroom, paled and with determination herself.

"You will not be going to that dance," the mother sternly told her daughter.

"But why?" The girl asked. She had been on her best behavior all month, and the dress was nonrefundable! She had been so prepared.

"I have been taking to the preacher. He says the dance is going to be for the Devil," the mother broke the news.

The girl nodded, pretending she accepted her mother's words. The girl, however, had put too much time into going to the dance. The minute her mother's attention was off of her, the girl began getting ready. Slipping on her dress, lightly dabbing a bit of powder and smearing some lipstick on, the girl was ready. She snuck out the door and ran to the K.C. Hall, where the dance was being held.

As soon as the girl walked into the room, all men turned to her. The girl's face flushed, startled by the sudden attention. Normally, no one would even give the girl a sideways glance. Her mother often accused her of being too awkward for a boyfriend, but she was not awkward that night. The boys in her class were fighting to get a dance with her.

Later, the girl broke away from the crowd. She went over to the refreshments table to grab some punch. She suddenly heard a hush. The music stopped. When the girl turned around, she saw the most handsome man she ever saw! Jet black hair and clothes, choosing to approach her of all people.

"Dance with me," the man ordered, not asked. The girl was both attracted and intimidated by his confidence.

"Of course," the girl stuttered. She was stunned by his appearance.

The man led her out to the dance floor. The music once again started up. The girl found herself dancing better than she had ever danced before. The two were the center of attention.

Then the man spun her around and around. The girl gasped out for a breath, trying her best to get out of the out-of-control spin. Faster and faster she went. The girl's feet were hot. The floor seemed to melt underneath her. The man, somehow, spun her even faster. She was spinning so fast that a cloud of dust flew up around them both so that they were hidden from the crowd.

When the dust settled, the girl was gone. The man in black bowed and disappeared. The Devil had come to his party, and he had spun the girl all the way to Hell.
