Caught in the Storm

Chapter 2

~Jayden's POV~
The other rangers and I head back to my house. When we walk in I hear voices, one was mentors and the other one I didn't recognize. I followed the voices into the kitchen and I look and saw Casey, my childhood best friend who I haven't seen since I was eight years old. He smile grew when she looked over at me, and then she ran over and gave me a hug. I instantly wrapped my arms around her small frame.

"I missed you." She says.

"I missed you too Cas."

She pulled away and looked at me. I kissed the top of her head smiling.

"I want you to meet the rest of the other rangers."

"Ok." She says shyly.

I chuckled then took her hand and led led her to the dojo where the others were. She hid behind me and put her face in my back. I smile cause I knew she was shy meeting other people as well the other rangers. She should at least remember Antonio, because we used to hang out a lot as kids.

"Cas its ok." I say to her softly.

I feel her nod against my back and then she comes around and she spots Antonio and goes to him smiling.

"Toni!" She says hugging him.

I smile softly then she let's him go and comes back over to me and takes my hand that has my ring my father gave me on it. I also plan on giving my ring to her not only as a token of our friendship but also to show how much I really care about her, well more than she thinks. This gesture means more to me than what the others know. Casey places her head against my arm.

"Everyone this is Casey, my best friend since we were born. She had to leave because her family had to move away for awhile. I can honestly say that I'm really happy that she's back and I can't wait to see what else she's been up to since then."

I then go ahead and introduce every other ranger by name to my friend. She still hid behind me but I know that sooner or later she will be back to her old self. I can tell she was feeling a bit uncomfortable and then I looked at Mentor.

"Are you ok if I take Casey back to my room?"

"Sure, but you know that you know you can do whatever you like. It is your house."

I nod then excuse us and then take Casey back to my room. I shut the door behind us and I see her look at it in awe.

"I remember we used to play right there on the floor."

"We had so much fun when we were kids. Who says the fun should ever end."

"What do you mean Jay?" She says looking at me.

~Casey's POV~
I look and see Jayden come closer to me. He takes my hand smiling then kisses my cheek.

"Casey I want to give you something that is special to me and my family." He says then takes off his fathers ring.

"Jayden I can't accept that. Its apart of your family, your dad gave you that."

"Please Casey take it. It would mean so much to me if you have it. My dad would be happy that it would go to you. He saw you as a daughter even when Lauren was sent away."

"I'm still not taking it."

"Your so stubborn." He smirks.

"I know. That's why you love me"

He then put the ring on my right middle finger. I smile and look at it. The claws remind me of the lion zord and the red was always their family's color.

"Please keep it Casey, I would love to know that its on the finger of a beautiful girl like you."

"I love it Jayden. The claws here," I say pointing to them on the ring. "Remind me if your lion zord which I love."

"I'm glad you have that ring Cas, my dad would be so proud of us."

"Yea, how so?"

"He would be happy that we found each other again, maybe to tell you how I really feel."

"How you really feel?" I asked confused.

"Yes Casey, how I really feel about you."

I go over and stand in front of Jayden. I placed my hand on his chest smiling, the ring was shimmering in the light.

"How do you feel Jay?"

"I'm in love with you Casey. I have been since before you left and we were little kids."

I don't know what to say so I kissed him, wrapping my arms around his neck. He then put his hands on my waist. God this felt right, I don't think that this will hurt our friendship in anyway, at least I hope not. I pulled away and looked at Jayden. He was smiling, his eyes then go down to my snowflake necklace.

"You have it."

"Oh yea my mom gave this before she died."

"Its pretty, She was smart to give it to you." He says smiling.

"I know, I miss her Jay."

"Oh baby." He says pulling me closer to him.

I sniffed and tried to prevent myself from crying. He then brings me over to his bed and laid down with me on top of him.

"Stay tonight please." He asks.

I look at him and peck his lips.

"Of course but I don't have anything to wear to bed."

"Well go and shower and I'll have some of my clothes laying out for you for when you get out." He tells me.

"Thank you Jayden. That's really sweet of you."

"Of course baby, anything for you."

I smile softly when he kisses the top of my head. I then got up with his help and he then sits up. I looked down at the ring he gave me. I jumped when I feel his arms wrap around my waist.

"Your very lovey dovey today." I say giggling.

"Just showing my girl that I care about her."

"Jay, I'm not your girl. I'm your best friend."

"Then why did you kiss me after I told you that I'm in love with you?"

"I didn't know how to react to it Jayden. My feelings were all over the place at the time." I say turning to face him.

"What feelings Casey?"

I didn't say anything and looked down not meeting his eye. I then go and stay quiet. He then starts rubbing circles onto my hips. I looked him and he was smiling at me.

"Do you want to be my girlfriend Cas?"

"Really?" I say my eyes lighting up.

"Yes. Now that your back, I'm not letting you go."

"Good. I'm not leaving anytime soon."

"So, what do you say to officially being my girl?"

"Of course Jayden. I wouldn't have it any other way." I say smiling.

He smiles then kisses me. I smile into the kiss, happy that this man is mine. I've wanted this since I could remember. He pulls away and let's me go. He goes over to his dresser and pulls out a white t-shirt and grey sweatpants. He then hands them to me and I gladly accept them.

"Thank you Jay."

"Your welcome babe. go ahead and shower. I'll be here when you get out."

"Ok. I'll be back as soon as I can."

"Take your time babe."

I nod and I go to the bathroom to shower. I get in an let the water relax my body and my muscles. I couldn't wait to see what this relationship with my best friend has in store for me.
