It's ironic how people give themselves away to random people instead of waiting just a couple years for the right person. And then when the right person comes the relationship is tainted by past decisions. It makes you feel like they will never be given all of your partner because some piece of them is already given away.

"Beth, wait! Please!" Tyler's deep voice calls out, as I run towards my house, my face wet with tears.
I wish so badly Silver was here now, but nooooo. She is away with her perfect little mate. I growl in annoyance, of course she has the perfect one while I get the jack ass, that's slept with more girls than One Direction fans.
I almost reach my porch before a set of large hands gently grip my shoulders and spin me around.
"Leave me alone!" Just with his touch more tears fall from my green eyes. I raise my hands and beat against his chest but he doesn't let go. When I finally realize my plan isn't working I drop my arms in defeat and hang my head. I try to slow my rapid breathes. Fighting with my wolf is exhausting me, since she feels it is only past mistakes and we should except our mate. But how can I do that when when I met him he was shoving his tongue down some girls throat. And the only reason he saw me was my scent hit him. He looked at me for the first time with his mouth on some other girl, so I ran. What else was there to do?
"Please Beth, just listen." And unfortunately my mother shouted my name in concern when she saw me run last, so Mr. asshole heard. And I had to learn his name name from the bitch who was sucking his face off, when she whined when he tore after me.
"Why should I? You obviously never wanted a mate! I mean you definitely didn't wait for me to be with, you apparently lip lock with anything that moves!" I yell and fix him with a hard glare, my icy eyes meeting his warm hazel ones. How can someone who looks so sweet with his teddy bear colored hair and smiling eyes, be such a jack ass.
"Beth please, I'm sorry. I didn't think I would ever find my mate. I mean after I turned 18 and no one in my pack was her, I gave up hope. Our Alpha doesn't let us travel or leave our territory, so I thought I'd never find her. But here you are, I can't just let you go!" He squeezes my shoulders gently, and a tear slips from his eye. As if on instinct I reach up and gently brush it away. But when I realize what I've done I go !to jerk my hand away but not before he places his over mine and curls his long fingers around it. I gasp as sparks dance across my skin at his touch.
I can feel myself breaking even as my words leave my mouth.
"But.... how could you?" My voice fades out as more tears escape my eyes.
Suddenly a pair of warm lips press softly to mine, and I gasp, more from the electricity and fire than surprise.
His lips leave mine quickly and I have to force myself not to lean forward.
"I'm so sorry." His voice cracks with so much emotion I break. I can almost hear a snap as my will breaks and my wolf howls in happiness. The snap propels me forwards until my lips meet his in a torrent of sparks and fire. His strong arms wrap around around my back, and my hands, on their own accord wrap around his shoulders to rest in his short hair.

"Oh! My bad. Ill.... um....... just go now." My mom's startled voice brings me back to the present, and I pull away from Tyler. I step back but he wraps his large hand around mine, so I don't get far.
"Oh...... uh, hi mom." I blush hard and drop my gaze timidly.

"Well, are you going to introduce us?" I look up to see her holding in a smile with a pointed look at Tyler.
"Oh......." I glance at Tyler, to see him smiling shyly at my mom. I sigh, here goes. "Mom, this is Tyler...............my mate." The smile finally appears as I guess her suspicions were confirmed. "Tyler, this is my mom, Claire." I glance his way to see him smiling fully now.
"Oh please call me Mom!" she looks like the Cheshire Cat as she steps toward and puts a hand on Tyler's shoulder.
"You'll be part of the family soon enough I suspect?" She raises an eyebrow before waving us on in the direction of the house as she heads that way ahead of us.
"I hope so." His smile falls as he shoots a nervous glance my way. He really thinks I'm going to reject him? After I kissed him? I give him a small smile and he lights up like a Christmas tree.
"Sooner than later hopefully." He chirps as we reach the porch steps. My mom sends a blinding smile over her shoulder before she opens the front door She steps to the side to let us through with a swoosh of her arm. As we cross the threshold she says,
"Welcome to the family." And Tyler's smile grows even more.

"This is amazing." Tyler says before shoveling in another forkful of roast.
"Why thank you." My mom loves all the compliments and asks Tyler every question known to man. I give my dad a knowing look that he returns from his spot at the head of the table. He is more of the quiet type, but mom does enough talking for both of them.
"So Tyler, How long has Clarkson been your Alpha?" Now here's a question I would like to know the answer to.

"Longer than I've been alive, so more than 20 years." That's nice to know, I kind of understand why he slept with other people, I mean most wolves find their mate on their 18th birthday, so I mean 2 years later and still no mate, I would feel hopeless too.

After dinner ends we all gather on the couches in the living room with plates of apple pie in all our laps. Silver's favorite, she's missing out. With that thought it hits me I have no idea what she is doing, she could be dead for all I know. But that thought doesn't even scare me, it will take one hell of a person to beat Silver. Yeah she's probably doing who knows what with you know who, cough* Noah.

I'm startled out of my thoughts as Tyler pales beside me. His eyes become unfocused like he is talking to one of his pack members through the pack link.
"What's wrong?" I ask when he shakes his head, as if to rid himself of a bad thought.
"Um.... well, Alpha Clarkson is apparently up and wants all members of my pack to gather in the square so he can discuss some things." He sends a worried glance my way before squeezing my hand and standing up. "I'll be back shortly." He bends down and softly kisses my cheek before saying goodbyes to my parents and heading to the front door. He sends another glance my way as he opens the door and heads out into the dark night. I get the feeling he isn't telling me something, and a heavy feeling settles in my gut.
"He seems like a nice boy honey." I smile at my dad, because those words are his seal of approval and I cant help feeling proud of my mate. I stand up and stretch my back before heading to the kitchen to get a glass a milk, a habit I got from Silver. Man, do I have a lot to tell her, I wish she wasn't out of link range. But she has been since the night she left. I sigh before taking a large swig of milk and decide I want some more sweets. I walk to the fridge and open the freezer and pull out a Twinkie. Another habit from Silver.

I shove the last bite of Twinkie in my mouth and throw the wrapper in the trash before finishing my milk and putting the glass in the sink. I decide to go to my room and get ready for bed until Tyler gets back from his mystery meeting. But as I reach the now empty living room, the front door bangs open and in comes a white faced Tyler. When his eyes land on me he runs to me and pulls me in a tight hug.
"I thought I was too late." He whispers into my curly red hair.
I pull away.
"For a Twinkie?" Inlean back and look at him, but i drop the sarcasm at his face. "What are you talking about?" I stare in puzzlement at him.
"We have to leave. My Alpha has declared war on your pack, he has ordered my pack to attack, I have to get you out of here now." He breathlessly explains before he grabs my hand and pulls me towards the back door.
"But my parents!" I pull against him, when his words finally sink in.
"Ill come back for them I promise. But I'm getting you to safety first." He grips my hand again and this time I follow him out the patio door. I throw a helpless look over my shoulder before running along with Tyler. We make a head long sprint for the woods and reach them just as shouts erupt from the village. We enter the fringe of trees and stop just in the shadows.
"I'll be right back." Tyler holds my face and kisses me gently before he turns to go back to my house to get my parents, but as he takes his first step, my house bursts into flames along with almost every other house in the village. A scream rips through the air and I'm shocked to realize it is me.
Shouts fill the air along with screams that make my hair stand on end.
I cry out in terror before trying to run to my parents but Tyler grabs me in his arms and I can't take another step. I sob as tears stream down my cheeks. My parents.... I sob harder, and Tyler pulls me into his chest and shields me from the petrifying sight. But it has already been burned into my mind. The sight of my home burning, my home being torn from me.

"I'm so sorry Beth." His voice is a hoarse whisper in my hair. "We have to go." He holds me back slightly and looks into my eyes. His words make sense in the rational part of my mind, but the part in shock screams to just fall to the ground and cry. Luckily the rational part kicks into gear first so I just nod slightly and let Tyler take my hand. I let him pull me along as he leads me away from my home.
My home that is burning to the ground right behind my back.
