"They told me that to make her fall in love I had to make her laugh, but every time she laughs I'm the one who falls in love."

I push through the bustling crowd, loud with cheers, towards the men still holding Noah. I get hit with elbows and pushed from side to side with the crowd's excitement. I finally give a final surge forward and break through the swarming people. I step away from the still yelling crowd towards the three men, and it falls silent. The men stare at me with fearful eyes.

"Can I have him?" I stretch out my hand, palm up.

"Alpha's orders, we can't." the middle man stutters out, and I lose my patience.

"Do you see your precious Alpha!?" I let loose a growl and Noah lets out a groan, waking up. Looks like he missed all the fun.

"She's the new alpha!" A voice yells from the crowd, and many murmurs of disbelief run through the crowd, before yells of agreement mixed with a few outraged no's.

And then it hits me.

I'm there new alpha.

When a wolf challenges an alpha there is a fight. And the winner is the new or still the alpha. And I did exactly that.

I raise a hand and all the words disappear in the still air.

"And now the Alpha orders you to give him to me." I spit out with authority. Instantly they gently carry him to me and I lean his weight against my side and wrap my arm around his shoulder. He murmurs some words and rolls his head, he's starting to wake up.

"Take me to your village." the crowd starts shuffling along and I follow behind the three men but still in front of the crowd.

As w set off, I notice for the first time I notice how the middle man walks with a limp. Looks like didn't go down without a fight, speaking of the devil I glance down at the still semi limp form beside me. He shuffles his feet along but the majority of his weight is still on me. He has long gash down one arm that is already starting to heal, the sort injury seems to be a dark bruise starting to form on his left cheek that must have been the knockout blow.

He groggily raises his head slightly, his icy gaze meeting mine.

"What happened?" His voice is a strained whisper, and he slowly looks around us at the crowd behind us and the three men in from of us. "Are we captives?"

I stifle a laugh, "no the Alpha is very fond of you and doesn't want any harms I come to either of us." I try to explain our situation without revealing what I did, but it doesn't work.

"They sound nice, I'd like to meet them, where are they?" she turns his head around before looking at me questioningly.

I sigh before looking back at him.

"You're looking at her." I manage a small smile, but I laugh when his eyes widen and his mouth drops open.

"What?!" He stopped walking at the news, so I have to tug him forward to keep the crowd from running into us.

"While you were out, I might have killed their Alpha." at his horrified expression I try to explain myself, "He wouldn't let me have you so we fought, and well he wasn't very good." I drop my eyes shamefully at my mate's gaze. I guess he has never known I've killed people.

I used to keep a list but when it filled half a notebook I quit. That was 2 years ago.

Suddenly a strong pair of arms wrap around my shoulders and holds me to a warm chest.

"Hey, I'm not mad, it was just unexpected. I mean I'm no even the Alpha yet!" He tilts my chin up to him and his blue eyes hold so much sincerity I visibly relax.

"Alpha, we are almost there." One of the 'three stooges' informs me, as become their nickname to me.

"Thanks." I give a slight nod at his questioningly eyes looking over his broad shoulders.

Noah straightens up a bit and the weight lessons on me, so I stand up straight and settle for holding his hand.

We break through the sense cover of trees and emerge into a large clearing filled with houses. Even though the general concept of most pack villages are the same each pack has its own design, an this pack is all modern. With solid glass walls, shiny silver exteriors, and manicured lawns.

The three stooges lead us towards a large house that stands out from the others due its size and distance from the other houses. As we walk many startled gazes from the resident follow us, and many names being called to the crowd. I flick a hand over my shoulder and dismiss the crowd which starts thinning immediately. I hear happy cries all around me but also a few growls in my direction. I guess the story was spreading.

When we finally reach the big house the only people left with us is the three stooges.

"This is the Alpha's- I mean your house." one of the men stutters out.

"Thank you, inform the higher ranked wolves to meet here in a hour, we have things to discuss." I tell the men as I enter the door, Noah right on my heels.

"Yes Alpha." I let the door swing shut behind him as I take in the view. The house is all sleek metal and glass. I head down the hallway that look to open into the kitchen. I'm proved right when I enter a huge room with polished granite and stainless steel appliances. The room is a rough triangle with the dining area in the point surrounded on two sides by glass. There is a sliding door that leads out onto a patio covered in surrounded by planted pots. I walk past the bar selection the kitchen and dining area trough an open doorway into a huge living room filled with plush leather couches and sleek side tables, a huge plasma tv hangs on the wall. I notice that Noah's foot falls are no longer echoing mine, and when I turn around I see him standing in front of one I the glass walls. I walk back into the kitchen to get a drink. I open the double doored fridge and hit the jack pot when I find a bottle of unopened apple juice.

"Yes." I whisper as I take it from the fridge and screw the lid off. Since I'm in no mood to search for glasses I tilt the bottle back and tack a big gulp.

"Manners?" I hear amusement in his voice and its surprisingly close. I jump away and turn to face him. "Scare you?" I smirk grows on his face, but it turns into a wince.

"Ice!" I turn back to the fridge and open the freezer. I grab some ice from the bucket, and wrap it in a towel I find on the counter.

"He still." I raise my arm slowly to his face and gently press the makeshift icepack to his bruised cheek. He cringes away from the ice so I raise my other hand and cup his other cheek to hold him in place. He warps his arms around my waist and pulls me to him.

"You could just kiss it better." He sticks out his bottom lip and gives a pouty a face a blind man would have fallen for.

"Fine, what hurts."

"My-" I interrupt him before his words leave his mouth.

"On your face." He gives a no fair face but I only smirk.

"Well my lips are kind of sore." I roll my eyes before pressing my lips softly to his just in case they really are sore. Apparently not, be brings one arm up behind my head to cup my neck and pulls me closer. Our lips meld together as I slip one of my hands behind his head to tangle in his thick hair. He moves his hand away from my waist to the hem of my shirt in the front.

When his fingers brush the skin of my stomach I pull away as a laugh forces its way out.

"Ticklish?" I give my best clueless look, but it fools no one. He brushes his fingers again and I try to get away from him.

"Not so fast sugar dumpling." he grabs me by the waist again, this time tickling me to death. I drop the wrapped ice and push my hands against his chest, but as hard as I try to tell him to stop I just laugh harder. And it grows because soon Noah's deep laugh mixes with mine to echo around the house.
