Later the night after Beth had almost died from shock with the news of my dad and brother, we were all up in Talas cave eating dinner. And she kept shooting awe filled gazes towards the new member if my family.
The only members. I feel a twist in my gut and I nearly drop my spoon.
Noah spares one glance in my direction and wraps his arm around waist as if he knows just from my expression what I was thinking of.
"Beth." I almost whisper. She turns to me with worry filled eyes. She already knows what I'm going to ask. "What happened?" She almost visibly cracks an I see her bright eyes start to fill with years. Tyler wraps a comforting arm around her thin shoulder and surprising he looks up to tell me the story.
For the next hour I sat and listened to how Noah's pack had held a meeting and were then informed they were going to attack. Tyler didn't know how the meeting was held without my Alphas knowledge or why, only that he rushed to Beth as fast as he could and dragged her away as fast a he could. And when he was going to return to get her parents the whole village went up in flames. He didn't know how none of pack had survived or any of the finer details, but all that mattered to me was who had done it.
Surprisingly when he was finished I didn't feel like crying. I felt like hitting something. And instead of sadness tearing me inside out, all I felt was a white hot anger. So burning that I left the tank in a rush and barreled down the stairs. I needed to fight.

Reaching the bottom of the stairs I make a mad dash for the ring of men I see eating around a fire in the center of the mini village.
Reaching them all heads turn to me.
"I need to fight." I speak without hesitation but the only response I get is a nervous shuffling of feet.
"Maam I don't th-" one of the hulking men starts. But I'm not having any of that.
"Fight me god dammit!" I yell and lunge for the man closest to me.
He didn't stand a chance as I easily twisted around him punching a nerve behind his knee in the process.
All eyes on me now here hesitant and wary. Straightening up I try again.
"Please." After several glances back and forth five of the men lunge at me.
I'm suddenly all reflex and instinct, as I twist and dodge and kick at the men surrounding me. For each one that drops two more take their place.
I had never fought so blindly before, it is like I'm not even trying I'm just letting my body move on its own according to its own will. I was dancing my own dance, one that no one else could repeat, one no one could compete in. And it all seemed too easy.

Knocking another man to the ground I spin to face the next. But nothingness greets me. There isn't a man left standing.
I look around me at all the broken bodies around me. At least 30 men. I wipe the blood from the scratch one of them managed to land on my cheek and I smile at the sight. I smile at the knowledge I'm not untouchable. Not invincible. At the knowledge that I can be broken just like everyone else.
But looking at all these groaning bodies around me I realize I'm not meant to break easy. And that makes my smile grow even bigger.
