I grinned as we stepped off the plane into the California sunshine.

It was a beautiful day, and I was in a good mood.

I walked with Kenzie to get our luggage then we both went to the lobby of the airport so that she could meet her aunt and I could meet my dad.

We didn't have to look for long when a woman came rushing up to us.

"Mackenzie! Wow, you've grown so much!"

The woman didn't seem much older than her late thirties and she was beautiful.

She was tall, tanned and slim, with long blonde hair and bright green eyes.

In a way, you could tell her and Kenzie were related.

Kenzie also had long blonde hair and bright green eyes.

She gave Kenzie a hug then she turned to me, looking curious.

"Is this Destiny?" She asked.

Kenzie grinned and nodded, then the woman smiled at me so I smiled back.

"Its nice to meet you, Destiny. Kenzie's mum told me that you were moving here to live with your dad and that that's why Kenzie wants to move here too." She stated.

Kenzie grinned at me.

"This is my aunt, Renee." She introduced her.

I grinned at her, then her aunt.

"Its nice to meet you too, Renee." I said.

That's when I saw my dad across the lobby, scanning the crowd for me.

Kenzie saw him too and smiled at me.

"I'll call you later so we can meet up." She said.

I smiled back at her before picking up my luggage and rushing over towards my dad.

He didn't see me until I was right in front of him.

Then he smiled, his face lighting up, looking surprised.

I couldn't blame him.

I'd changed quite a bit in the last couple of years.

I'd changed my hair from dark blonde to an even brighter blonde, and I was slimmer and taller.

"Destiny! Wow, I hardly even recognised you!" He exclaimed.

I smiled, amused.

I wouldn't go that far.

"Dad, I've missed you so much!" I said as I gave him a massive hug.

When I pulled away, he was grinning.

"I've missed you too. Wait till you see the new house, you'll love it." He said, sounding sure.

He took my luggage from me, even though I tried to tell him that I could carry it myself.

Then he led me through the lobby and out the entrance to where his car was parked.

I looked at it in awe.

It was a bright red sports car, with the roof down.

I climbed in while my dad put my luggage in the boot, then he climbed in and started the engine before driving off in the direction of his house.

"You like the car?" He asked, grinning.

I grinned back at him.

"I love it." I stated.

"So, how've you been the past couple of years?" He asked, sounding curious and interested.

I shrugged.
