Narrators Point Of View

As Abigail said those three words a ginormous grin grew on Edwin's face. The girl hadn't known the effect these words would have on the boy, and if he is honest he didn't really know either.

Along with this huge smile spread across his face his mind also began to feel at ease once again. He had a lot running of terrible things scattered among his thoughts before hand, but as soon as the words escaped her lips, suddenly all the negatives disappeared.

For some reason, all week all he had wanted to hear were those three words, or something related to that. Until now he could not explain why, but he craved to be the one to open this mysterious girl up, he believed she was only tough on the outer surface and wanted to see beyond her perfect.

See, even a fool was able to decode his feelings at this point.

Edwin liked Abigail.

He figured this out the night that Abigail had hurt herself, he found himself trailing off from the conversation and just completely leaving eventually. It confused him really, these feelings, but the way she spoke so passionately about what she loves, what she believes in and the way she was able to make him smile without even being around drove him crazy. Little did Abigail know, she had Edwin wrapped around what he saw as her perfect, slightly tanned finger.

Abigail on the other hand hadn't known love, but that big smile of Edwin's was able to give her goosebumps in the hot summer air so that had to count for something. She would sit for what seemed like eons just thinking about the boy and overanalysing every little thing she said to him which is something she hasn't ever done before. She wasn't bothered with other people's opinions, nobody's but his.

When Edwin found out Abigail had cut herself he was angry, no, infuriated at the fact he wasn't able to help her, that he was so oblivious to the fact that even she can only be so strong for so long. It was hurting him, eating him up. When Abigail mentioned her mother he was even more infuriated at himself for not letting her go at her when she came to their front door step, but what angered him further was the fact that Lucas was right in front of him and he had the ability to beat the shit out of him, but he didn't.

Edwin had discovered that the feelings he had for the girl was a shapeshifter, it could turn to sadness one day, anger the next or just numbness. Today, it just so happened to be anger.

He thought long and hard before replying with "I won't ever give you a reason to regret it"

Abigail's cheeks tinted pink as her gaze turned to the floor, she hadn't ever trust anyone before but she got a feeling that maybe, just maybe, Edwin deserved that much.

"I hope not"

They begin to walk out to the car, they remain in silence until Abigail brings up the topic of her and Austin discussing that Edwin never swears

"You bring out the worst in me" he decides to reply which is the truth in a sense, she brings out the worst in him for sure, but the best too, and the angriest and the most loving.

Edwin mentally slaps himself for even thinking about the L word, it's only been a week and a half since they've known one another.

"Why were you so cold when I was chilling with Austin anyway?"

Jealousy. So obviously jealousy. Abigail's obliviousness didn't allow her to see how much he had fallen for her.

"You'd have to be deaf if you didn't hear the argument with my ex" is the excuse he came up with,

She turns to face him, her eyes widening at the realisation, "you said I wasn't causing problems" she puts a pout on her face in a joking manner, but still somewhat seriously.

"You aren't, anyway, this is where we split" he announces, pointing at the two cars "see you tomorrow dance partner"

"You're the worst pupil, see you round Ed"

His heart fluttered when she called him that, he didn't know why.

"See you, Nickleson"
