"Hey Abigail, could I- uh, have a word" Brandon says in the doorway of Edwins bedroom, interrupting my game.
"Why are you such a nervous wreak Brandon?" I laugh.
"I just- ugh come with me please" He says as he walks out of the doorway, knowing full well that I'm trailing closely behind him. What's up with him?
I step into his bedroom for the second time this week, the first time he needed relationship advice, which once again I have no idea why people come to me oh my god, and we're here now.
To be fair, I think I know what this is about. After coming home with Edwin exactly a week ago, I have explained to the boys my situation and they all completely understand, so I'm staying here right now. It's nothing permanent obviously.
Brandon though has been the advocate of going back and facing my problems, just like Venus.
I also explained everything to Venus, but she's the only other person that knows about Ed and I besides.. well obviously Edwin and I. We didn't tell the boys, Edwin decided that.
"You need to go back" He sighs.
Called it.
"I'm planning to"
"Today"
"Why? There is literally no reason why I have to" I emphasise the word 'have'
"Hanna, she's.." he begins to itch the back of his neck.
Fear grows inside of me, "What. Brandon, tell me"
"Abigail, she's really struggling and I don't.." he sighs, "I don't think it's just because of you, her boyfriend left her and the hate she's been getting after people realised you two aren't speaking is insane. She just.. she really needs a friend"
"She has three other people in the group Brandon I'm sure-"
"Let me rephrase, she needs you. She told me to tell you that it's a code black situation"
Hanna and I have a code system. A couple of them are good; yellow means good news, pink means you've got a new found crush and purple means you're bored. Others though are not so good; red means you've gotten your period, green means you're jealous, blue means your sad and black..
Black is the code I'd mainly as a teenager when my life was falling apart, when I was just really fucking depressed.
All of the codes were an sos no matter the severity of them, so as soon as Brandon mentioned that I was out of his room and in the lounge room.
"Give me your keys" I demand.
"Why you ha-"
"give me your fucking keys!" I yell, he nods and reaches over to his bedside table before chucking them to me.
I run down into his car and make my way home way above the speed limit.
I'm angry with her, holy shit I could kill her, but throughout my whole life she's been there for me when I needed her. She came at the speed of light when I'd send her the code. I owe her just as much.
*skip car ride*
I open the front door and run up to Hanna's, but before I can open the door Riley grabs my hand.
"Don't" she warns me.
"Let go Riley"
"She's-"
"I fucking know how she is Riley, I need to talk to her"
She hesitated before she nods and opens the door, and as I look into the room guilt begins to run through my veins.
