I wake up to the feeling of someone's arms wrapping around my legs and torso, my eyes softly flicker open to be met with Edwin's bea- brown eyes and his hairless head, the one that makes him look like a hairless cat, blocking out the sun. I momentarily freak out before recollecting the memories of this morning.
Slowly I begin to remember little things; how I looked out the window and my anxiety completely dissolved at the view, and the feeling I got when I was told where I was sitting in the car, Austin and Hanna were seated next to me.
Truth be told, awful was a complete and utter understatement. My heart genuinely dropped when I found out who I was sitting with.
Hanna was on the phone to her fuck buddy or something..
"Its not a fuck buddy, it's a future husband!" She claimed when I asked her, which just lead to more questions.
And despite the fact he said he loved the city, Austin wouldn't shut up about the traffic at this time of morning.
"Honestly, New York has to be one of the busiest places on the planet" he said stupidly, blocking his eyes from the eight am sunlight that is beaming brightly across the beautiful city.
"It is" Nick informed him, "top twenty"
Austin rolled his eyes and gave Nick the finger, "Stupid nick with his stupid facts" he mumbled, making me chuckle.
Next thing I remember is resting my head on Austin's shoulder and dozing off again, which would explain how I got here.
"Thank you" I mumble to Edwin in a low, husky voice.
"Don't mention it, you look adorable when you sleep" he says with a smirk.
I slap his chest playfully and we laugh before we enter this fancy ass building... well, the chandeliers covering the wine red roof just gives me that assumption.
"I'm going to have to put you down so I can check with my manager where we're staying, ok?" He asks
i'm sorry wHAT DO YOU MEAN 'WE' NO NO NO EDWIN HAHAHA FUNNY I'M DEAD DECEASED TO FUNNY 4 ME
"We? I think the fuck not" I decide to go with instead of my initial thought.
"Well if we're seen going in different rooms then it'll be proof that we're not dating"
"We aren't" I remind him, earning an eye roll.
"They need to think we are"
He softly places me down and I rub my eyes to try and awaken myself as he walks towards his manager.
I eye a red, fluffy couch that I mentally call dibs on. However, my life isn't that simple, because I run into someone on my journey to true comfort.
"Sorry" I say is I remove my hands from my eyes and look up.
"It's okay" this tanner girl with dirty blond hair replies.
I walk beyond her and towards a couch before I'm stopped once again by a tap on the shoulder.
Can I not walk? Like, my bad honestly I didn't know.
Maybe I'm just tired, angry and disoriented but either way the interruptions of me getting to that damn couch is getting on my nerves.
"The elevator is this way, everyone is already in their rooms" Edwin informs me
"I just want to fucking sit down" i snap before remembering that am in fact, a woman.
"what's the date?"
He pulls out his phone from his pocket "the twelve of April, why?"
And a part of being a woman, is your period.
