They learned a lot about eachother that night. Kilorn had nightmares, as did Cal, he also snored. Flavia reads before bed (books raided from a library on the third branch fron the top). Amara writes fanfiction every night (which is really good) Kilorn read some of it and was amazed.
That night Kilorn awoke after a nightmare(this is normal for him) and looked out the door of his hut. Amara was sitting on a bend in the branch staring at the stars.
Kilorn looked closer. Amara turned around. Her face looked wet, was... was she crying. She turned her head back quickly and wiped her face. Kilorn sat down beside her.
" you ok?" Kilorn looked worried
"Yeah, I'm fine," Amara said quickly
"OH MY GOD LOOK. STARLINGS."Kilorn said excitedly standing up.
"I havent seen those in ages,"Amara was smiling broadly.
She tried to stand on the branch but she slipped.
Kilorn reached out his arm quickly and grabbed her hand.
"That could've been messy," Kilorn said, pulling Amara closer.
Amara blushed furiously and pulled away.
They sat back down and stared at the glowing starlings fliting between the millions of stars in space. Amara clutching Kilorn so she wouldn't have to face the sheer drop of at least 2000 metres again. They sat there until the sun appeared over the expanse of cities far below. Amara had fallen asleep long before that but Kilorn had held her tight.
Flavia awoke with the sun. She crept out, trying not to wake the others but then she noticed the pair on the branch. She smiled and went downwards to the food branch near the top. She got three crepes and climbed back to their branch in the tree. She handed two crepes to Kilorn.
"Thanks Flavia,"he smiled sleepily.
