Amara and kilorn were learning to hunt for food. Kilorn specialised in traps and/or fishing. Whatever the time and place called for. Amara usually hunted for the purple spotted deer that rambled around near the camp that they had set up. Sometimes she used her powers to snatch food from passing drakes. That was hard though. They almost got caught twice. Sana grew vegetables. She could make them sprout up in two days using potions made of herbs.
Every few days they had to move their base in case Erik or Maycy were getting too close. The dragons had left them to take care of things on the floating islands. Reinn was the leader of the air island, Meliorna was the leader of the metal island and Grass had taken over from Reinn, looking after hatchlings since he had become the leader of the air island.
They got attacked by drakes four times and killed seven of them. Sana was getting sick of all of it. She had gone through a lot since they arrived in Domus Draconae and it was wearing her down.

Amara heard rustling in the trees and gripped Kilorn's arm. they both stood up and grabbed their weapons. Amara had a magic steel whip that Sana had enchanted.

This was probably just a false alarm. Sana hid in the hut with Pidge. She was rubbish with close combat, prefering to stand back and throw potions. If this was an enemy they would be far too close for Sana to play to her strengths.
They heard a loud crashing sound and a tree flew over Amara and Kilorn's heads, landing behind them. And then... Oh Gods... He was back...
