"We have to get him back," Amara said, pacing in circles.
"No way, were not letting them win. If we stop, then the lives of every hybrid will be a living hell," Ssssam slithered across the room.
Amara stormed off angrily.
Aku ran to catch up to her.
"Follow me," Aku whispered.
Amara did as she was told. Aku led her up the tree higher than Amara had ever gone before. They stopped at a dead end.
"patefacio sursum" Aku muttered and a section of the trunk sank down into the platform they were standing on. They walked out onto a branch that was much thinner than the others. A girl in a cloak with intricite royal blue around the hems turned around to face them, her cloak sweeping around behind her as she did so.
She looked about 14.
"Sana Luceat,"Aku held her arm out introducing the young girl.
Sana nodded.
"Im an Animo,"
Amara gasped.
"I thought Animo's were extinct," a grin spread across Amara's face. She had always wanted to meet an Animo.
"Almost, now we live in secret groups, in places only we can travel between," Sana turned to Aku. "You only bring me visitors when there's something important going on," Sana said glancing at Amara.
"We need your help," Aku sheepishly lowered her head.
"I know,"Sana grinned. Aku gave a smile of her own and turned to Amara
"Amara, go back to your hut and text the others to meet you there. Explain to them whats going on. Tell 'em we're gonna bring back bear boy. Dont tell anyone else ok?" Aku said curtly.
Amara was nearly crying by now. She nooded so hard her hair-tie came loose. She ran over and hugged Aku.
"Thank you," She choked out.
