When will your lightning strike?
When you you burn down my heart?
When will you subside?
I want you to know that I'm sorry
I didn't turn away on purpose
You seemed so caught up in someone else,
always around her, Like a son and a father
messing with her,
close to her
I watched, it kinda hurt.
So I turned around, 'cause I couldn't watch any more.
Yeah I got jealous, deal with it
I pushed you out of my thoughts, you never crossed once.
You want my attention now? Are you hurting too? Is that why? Did she never give you a chance to explain yourself, or unexplained history that I'll never understand 'cause I'm new on the scene?
You think I'm cold-hearted,
but you don't know what to think,
like the weight of a newborn baby,
foreign in a mother's arms, is what I am to you
I notice this pattern.
The way you try to get my attention,
the way you get nervous
I wonder what's going on,
why have you shifted back all of a sudden?
What happened?
You wanted her, you laughed so much with her,
you wanted her close to you. Real close.
You cast my heart in this shadow when I saw you with her, downhearted.
I ignore pain. Natural instinct when I see hazard lights,
switch off emotions,
I try, I need to try because there're people reaching out to me,
I can't ignore them
You already got my attention at the start, you don't know it,
You and your easy ways,
awesome ways,
a complicated mindset in the backdrop and after hours - I can tell just by looking at your expression.
Why do you act like you take no notice? Couldn't you care less?
'Cause I know it drives you mad
Songs went nowhere,
Broken melodies
this isn't one of them,
I'm not letting it be
Why do you have to be so confusing?
This is life that's why
I don't mean to ignore,
when I smile,
it rolls into a frown when I see you
When I laugh it comes out forced, gosh,
you have to understand,
I've been dragged away from my safe haven.
All of you here are my instant enemies. I don't wanna know any of you.
But I have to.
Know that I wouldn't feel better if I fake how I feel in this moment in time,
As you can see, a lot is going down in my life
Including my motivation
That's why I'm doing this
