Chapter 14

I woke with a huge jolt forward. All of that force shot me upright and I realized I had been laying down. Electricity felt like it was flowing through my body. I couldn't help but notice that as soon as I woke up my breathing was very heavy.

I was gulping for air. It was like I couldn't get enough of it. No matter how much I took in it was inevitable that I would get to the amount I wanted.

Slowly my vision restored and I became face to face with a shirtless Cam. He was sitting up and staring at me with wide eyes. He still had his jeans on however the were dangerously low on his waist. My body flushed with heat just from the sight of him.

I looked around and the room was white. There were white and periwinkle tile floors and I noticed I was laying on a hospital bed.

I was still wearing my black dress that I had worn from the party. My shoes had been taken off and set next to the bed. I ran a hand through my long hair and I could feel that someone had removed my makeup.

I looked to my left and saw a lady with a white coat putting away a defibrillator. I moved my hand to my chest, well that would explain the electrics shocks I feel going through me.

"Hi honey." The lady said and stood on the other side of me.

"Hi." I replied but my voice came out I an croak.

The lady reached out towards the table and gave me a glass of water. I drank it and my throat instantly felt a little better.

"Good honey. Now I have a series of questions for you." She said and I just looked at her and nodded warily. I hated hospitals and doctors.

Cam looked at me worriedly and tried to grab my hand but, I pulled it away. He looked me in the eye and I could tell he was still hurting inside.

"What is your name?"

"Rosedal Stone." I answered her.

"Good. Now how old are you?"

"18." I replied.

"Great." She looked at me. She then looked at Cameron.

"You have a good boyfriend. The boy stayed here all two nights with you. Even, after we told him he shouldn't be moving that much considering his gun shot wound. He is very stubborn and persistent." The lady said.

I had forgotten about the gun and last night. Now she had reminded me.

I smiled at her sadly.

"Thank you. However, he's not my boyfriend. We're just friends." I replied.

I looked at Cameron however, he was just staring at the wall to the right of me.

"Oh I'm sorry." The doctor said.

"No it's not a problem." I said politely.

She continued to write things on her clipboard of papers rather frantically.

"Okay well I'll be back in a couple of hours. Continue drinking water and if your hungry the cafeteria is on the third floor. I wouldn't recommend a lot of walking. I'm Dr. Jeanette if you need anything." She said and I nodded at her.

She walked swiftly out of the room leaving Cam and I alone.

I sat staring at him for a while. I had him memorized in my mind however, every time I look at him I'm amazed. His face was softened like how it always is when he is in deep thought.

"We have to talk about this." I whispered.

"I knew." He whispered to me whilst staring at the same wall.
