On the outskirts of the Pride Lands, a group of animals known as the Lion Guard, were patrolling the borders. They consisted of five members. Fuli, a cheetah, Betsy, a hippopotamus, Bunga a honey badger, Ono, an egret and Kiara's brother, Kion. Kion was the leader of the Lion Guard and it was his job to protect the Pride Lands and it's inhabitants. They had just finished patrolling the borders, a task only the Lion Guard had the patience to do. They were just about to leave and go back to their lair, when Ono, the keenest of sight, flew up in a hurry. " Kion! Kion!"he cried frantically.
"What is it Ono?"asked Kion. "I saw Kiara, she was being attacked." "By who?"wondered Kion. "Kovu, Vitani and Marisa were the only words that came out of Ono's mouth. Kion's jaw dropped open in shock. "If I find a single scratch on my sister, he said angrily. I'll see to it that all of them are exiled from the Pride Lands…for good." "Well what are we waiting for Kion," said Fuli. "Let's go save Kiara." Kion nodded and took off after Ono.
When Kion and the Lion Guard arrived, they heard Kiara's screams. Kion's teeth were gritting in fury. Without waiting for an exclamation, Kion ran to his sister's aid and quickly pushed Kovu off of her. Vitani and Marisa were pushed away by Fuli. "Hey, what the heck is going on with you guys."shouted Kovu. "Let go, you're hurting me Fuli!"yelled Vitani. "We're hurting you?" asked Fuli in disgust. "Did you think about pain when you attacked the princess?" "We don't know what you're talking about!"growled Marisa angrily. "We'll see about that!"replied Kion. "STOP THIS NONSENSE!"shouted Kiara, causing all heads to face her. "Kion, release Kovu immediately!" "But Kiara he tried to…"
"I said release Kovu, NOW!" yelled Kiara. Kion released him at once. " Fuli, release Vitani and Marisa."said Kiara. Fuli released them too. The siblings got up and glared at the Lion Guard, anger burning in their eyes. "I want you all to come with me to Pride Rock,"said Kiara firmly. She walked away with the siblings behind her. When Kovu passed Kion and Fuli, he whispered in their ears. "You're going to regret that,"he said coldly. Kion gulped nervously, looked at his team, silently got up and followed his angry sister.
