Winterfell is nothing like Driftmark. It offers warm citizens willing to give any hospitality within their power - noble or poor. They bow gratefully and give a small 'My Lady' as a formal greeting. Everywhere through the hold is just warm and caring despite all that the Northerners had gone through. They know Rhaena little, only that she is the bastard's lover. 'Lady Snow' she heard them say a few times. Hearing the title makes Rhaena think she's silly for actually taking a liking to it. They have also learned of her Targaryen relation and have playfully started calling her the 'White Dragon', in relation to Jon's 'White Wolf', of course. On Driftmark she was known as simply 'Lady Velaryon' but her mother and brother had made it very clear she would never have control of anything - not the commoners, not the castle, not the farms. She would never be a true Velaryon, they said. They was mad. It was they who were not true Velaryons.

Now, beside her sits Jon at the Lord's table. Overlooking the chattering and drinking among the rabble. Sansa sits with them, being truly the Lady of Winterfell though everyone took orders from Jon. She seems content with it and maybe feels Jon will rule better than her, Rhaena thinks. She wears wolf furs as does Jon, black and grey to match their leathers beneath the long cloaks. Sansa's hair stood out among the black clothes, being shiny and bright auburn, like her mother Rhaena hears. Sansa has been kind to Rhaena, but maybe it was only because of Jon's fierce love for her and the life inside her he wants to protect. If she was still Lady Velaryon, it would be all falsely sweet curtsies and smiles.

Jon merely sits at the table, sipping from his mug now and then, and often turns to his love to give her a warm smile. By now, she thinks she may be two full moon cycles along. Then again, it has been difficult to keep track. Her belly grows everyday and reminds them both the child will be here soon, something Rhaena cherishes but something she knows will haunt Jon. All his life, he has told her how he felt shunned by everyone because of his bastard status. He knew, however, that no one could touch him because of Lord Eddard forbidding it. This child inside of her foretells a future of love and laughter, but Rain knows that Jon thinks everything about how the child will be called names and treated as an outcast just as him. The only option they knew to prevent it was to marry, something they both want equally. However, Jon is stubborn at the same time. He feels that Rain should tell her family despite everything they've done to her. That led to a long, grueling argument, but finally she gave in. Soon she will set sail for her home, with Jon by her side. That, at least, he agreed upon.

Lords of the North and Vale surround them now in the Long Hall, some chattering and some arguing. From what Rhaena can make out, it was mostly a heated debate over the Freefolk of why they are even here, how they can even be trusted, how the looks some gave to them frightened them. They never used the word frightened, they preferred the word angered. From their tones, Rain could tell they might be silently shivering in their beds at night, horrified at the prospect of the Freefolk being on this side of the Wall. Once, they frightened her too. However, they have proved themselves loyal to the cause after Jon's rescue of them in Hardhome.
