Chapter Thirty Three: Kill the Ambush

From the rooftop, Syura shouts, "Hey Generals, yoohoo, these guys are part of Night Raid!!! We'll take them alive and make them spit out where the rest are!! Then we'll kill them!!!" Minazuki just sighs and says, "I'll deal with the loud one first, he's irritating..." He quickly chucks the seeing stick at him, and it's heading straight for his chest at a remarkable speed, but Syura catches it with his bare hands. He starts to laugh before shouting, "Idiot! You think an attack like that will get me!?!" Minazuki just takes off his sunglasses and says, "Oh, but it did. You're already dead." Syura looks at the stick in confusion before it turns to sand in his hands and escapes his grasp. "S-sand!?", Syura shouts before the sand slices through his fingers then his throat, causing blood to spill out of his wounds. "No...I can't die...I have to...surpass...Pops...! I have to...", he thinks as an image of his father appears in his head before he falls off the rooftop and plumits head first into the ground, dying a second before he hit the ground. "You dare spill blood in the Palace!? You shall be executed by my Adramelech!!!", Budo shouts as he charges a lighting attack in his gauntlets. "How foolish... Tatsumi, retrieve Lubbock's body. We'll deal with these Generals then make our escape!", Minazuki orders as his disguise turns to sand, revealing his usual form covered by a hoodless cloak. Tatsumi just nods before rushing over to Lubbock and picking up his limp body. Hitzugaea and Budo both send their strongest attacks at Minazuki, but he just deflects them easily with his gauntlets, sending each of their attacks at the other. They both manage to dodge and Minazuki says, "Hmm, at least you're both strong enough to be called Generals. Let's do battle here and now! I will deal with both of you then make sure to keep my promise." He unleashes the full extent of his powerful aura and Dorothea is more than intimidated by it. "W-what is this!?! It isn't just murderous intent! And Syura's dead for sure after just one attack from that guy!! I'm getting out of here!!!", she says to herself before escaping. Izou tries to sneak attack Minazuki, but Minazuki just catches his blade with two fingers before saying, "Mortal, you should know your place. Such a weak blade could never defeat a God!" He quickly spins around and punches Izou with all his might, sending him flying through the Palace walls. "They don't seem to be made out of stone... What is this place made out of..?", Minazuki thinks to himself as he tries to use the walls as weapons, but they don't seem to react to his call. Hitzugaea rushes in for an attack, but Minazuki elegantly dodges his rapid slashes. But he's caught off guard by a quick downward slash from Tenmei! He manages to block the blade with his forearms, causing Hitzugaea's eyes to widen at the sight of the scales that are fused with his skin. The impact from the blade hitting his arms is strong enough to force his feet into the dirt and create a crater underneath him. Budo tries to use this time to finish Minazuki off with a full powered electric punch, but Minazuki catches the punch and takes attack head on. As Budo shouts, "Adramelech!!!", lighting goes through his gauntlets and into Minazuki's body. But as the electricity courses through his body, Minazuki is left seemingly unharmed! "W-what!?!", Budo shouts before Minazuki punches him in the stomach, sending the General to his knees. Hitzugaea then shouts, "Shol!!!", before his blade is engulfed in a massive blue flame that he sends at Minazuki. Minazuki dodges the attack, which turns to the ground he was standing on just a second ago into lava. "You're growing stronger, General. But you still lack that one last PUSH!", Minazuki says before forming ten earth spears out of the ground and sending them flying toward Hitzugaea! Hitzugaea slices them down as quickly as his body will let him while shouting, "Is this the best you got, boy!? I can keep up with this for days!!!" They hear a loud crash and turn to see it was Tatsumi getting kicked out of the sky by Esdeath! "Tatsumi!", Minazuki shouts before rushing over to see what he can do, but Budo and Hitzugaea quickly intercept him, blocking his path. Minazuki's eyes begin to glow and Hitzugaea just laughs before saying, "Let's unite our power, General Budo!" But before Budo can respond, Minazuki punches Hitzugaea in the stomach, causing him to spit up a massive amount of blood. "You stand before a God, do not forget that, Mortal...", Minazuki says in a cold tone before kicking Hitzugaea with all his might, sending him crashing into a nearby wall. He then turns to Budo, who's impressed by Minazuki's power. Before Budo has any time to react, Minazuki grabs him by his armor and pulls him in for a knee to the gut. He holds back enough to keep from damaging the man too much before chopping the back of his neck, knocking the large man out cold. "His aura, it's definitely Raii. I'll take him with us. Perhaps I can make him see the light...", Minazuki thinks before he starts heading over to help Tatsumi. Tatsumi gets to his feet, but is met by another kick from Esdeath, which sends Lubbock flying out of his hands. "Such devastating power~", Suzuka says with a blushing face at the sight of Esdeath's raw strength. Minazuki manages to catch Lubbock, but watches as Tatsumi is engulfed by a light green flame! He turns to see Hitzugaea, who's now glowing with an overwhelming dark red aura, almost on the same level as his own. "I see, so our time is up then...", Minazuki mutters to himself as he sees Incursio release and Tatsumi's limp body hit the ground unconscious. He manages to sense a weak heartbeat from Tatsumi's body, so he knows he isn't dead. Minazuki snags Shambhala from Syura's corpse before rushing over to Budo's unconscious body and throwing the large man over his shoulder. "Stop right there, Quake!! I'm not finished with you yet!!!", a dark voice shouts from Hitzugaea's body. He sends a large black wave of fire at Minazuki, but a giant dragon skull busts out from the ground and chomps its mouth down over Minazuki, protecting him from the attack. As it crashes against the dragon skull, it causes a large explosion of energy that creates a large dust cloud. "Where'd he go!?! I can't see him!!", the dark voice exclaims in an irritated tone. As the dust settles, he sees the skull was turned to sand and nothing seems to be left behind. "That Quake, he's always a resourceful one. He's already made his escape.", the voice says as the flames coating Tenmei die down and he places the weapon on his back. He turns to see Tatsumi and goes to finish him off, but Esdeath stands in his way with her weapon drawn. "You will not touch him...!", she says to him sternly with a glare. He's less than amused by her threat but doesn't feel like a single boy is worth fighting over and says, "Very well, woman. Do what you want with that boy." As his overwhelming dark red aura grows even more, he turns from her and walks away without another word. "We'll find another way to eliminate him. He'll likely come back for his little friend here. Quake has always been too soft for a God. We'll catch him then and when we do, we'll take his power and with that, the rest of the Gods will bow down to me!", Shol thinks as he walks off into the Palace.
