Chapter Forty Nine: Engulfed in War

Deep behind enemy lines in the Capital, Youkan, one of Night Raid's final targets, is cowering in the corner as his guards fall to the ground dead with blood pouring from their necks. "It's Night Raid!!!", the bald man exclaims as Chelsea drops her disguise, revealing herself to be the one who killed his guards in a puff of smoke. "Youkan, for your sins against the people of this great Empire, you will pay for your life!", Chelsea exclaims as she walks towards him, menacingly. The grown man, his nose dripping with snot as he cries out, "Nooo!! Wait, please!!! I have a loving family, children even!!! I'll give you whatever you want, please just let me live!!!" The girl pulls needles out from her Gaea Foundation before saying, "That isn't gonna happen.", causing the crying man to return to a calmer state. As he cleans the snot from his face, he lets out a chuckle before saying, "It was worth a try, I guess. In that case, allow me these final words. As my life flashes before my eyes it's come with a spring of inspiration. An ode to my death, a farewell poem. Please, allow me to recite it." Chelsea quickly launches a needle into the man's throat, silencing him before saying, "I hate poetry.", causing him to grab at his throat. As he begins to panic, she walks up to him and grabs his face before stabbing him in the back of his neck, killing him instantly. She pulls both needles out at the same time and the man's limp body falls to the ground lifeless. "That's one target down. With all the Imperial guards dispatched to the battlefield for the war effort, this is a piece of cake. Now to meet up at the rendezvous point.", she thinks to herself before turning into a cat and leaping out of the nearby window onto the nearby rooftop. And as she runs across the roof, she thinks to herself, "I hope everyone else is alright..."

Back in the Palace on the top floor, the King is unlocking the power of the Supreme Imperial Arm. As energy seems to flow through his staff and into his body, he begins to panic and thinks, "Somethings...It's all flowing into my mind! Exactly how to control it...how to drive it...how to steer it!" "The Supreme Imperial Arm...what terrifying power..!! Prime Minister!! We can't allow the Rebel Army to obtain this weapon! It's far too dangerous!!", the King exclaims as he looks back at Honest. The Prime Minister nods to him before saying, "That is why I wanted you, our Lord, in your infinite wisdom, to personally take control of it! After all, we cannot allow this great Empire, which has thrived for over one thousand years, to perish!!" As he hears this, the King sheds a single tear before turning back to the wall in front of him as it glows with an almost infinite light! "Father....Mother...please..grant me the power to save our country!!!", the boy thinks as he imagines his mother and father standing by his side as the true power of the Supreme Imperial Arm is unleashed and its head rises from the shattering ground before him.

Out on the crumbling wall around the Capital, Shol is flying up in the air as Suzuka falls helplessly with the wall. Shol ignores her pleas for help, focusing only on the battlefield and the sound of a gentle flute. "The enemy forces are full of morale. They must be using Scream.... That Imperial Arm is useless to me, though our forces will be at quite the disadvantage.", Shol says to himself as he glares down at the enemy army to see a small child, riding on the back of a rhino, as they play a majestic tune on Scream. Shol looks down at his men and shouts, "Use the undead as your shields and press forward, men!! Even if they fall, I can always summon more!!!" As his army looks up to him, listening to his wise words, one of the poor soldiers is met with a metal fist to the face! The fist reels back to Najenda and she shouts, "Imperial Arms users, continue mowing down these waves of Undead! Don't let them reach our main forces!!" Lubbock quickly leaps over the front line of soldiers with their shields raised before using his wires to cut down three undead soldiers. As he lands, however, a zombified wyvern head burst out of the ground, devouring Lubbock whole in one bite before freeing itself from the ground entirely! Najenda's eye widens in disbelief, but before panic can truly set in, Susanoo leaps into the fight and wails the beast in face, sending its jaw flying off and Lubbock goes flying through the air before tumbling across the ground, landing on his stomach covered in goo. "Zombie spit, that's just great.", Lubbock complains as Susanoo's weapon's small blades jet out and start spinning. He slices the undead beast into pieces before looking back to check on Lubbock. "Are you alright, Lubbock?", Susanoo asks, to which Lubbock reluctantly nods and says, "Other than some zombie spit, I'm just frickin peachy." As the two stand together, more undead soldiers burst out from the ground. "These things just don't stop coming. How the hell do we deal with these things?", Lubbock complains as he stands up and flicks the goo off of his sleeves. Suddenly, two axes come flying out from the Rebel army, decapitating multiple zombies before flying back to its owner, a young busty woman with tan skin and blonde hair wearing a white military uniform with her black bra exposed. As Lubbock gets an intense nosebleed at the sight of the girl's impressive bust size, she asks them, "Are you two alright!? We're here to assist!" Susanoo nods before even more zombies begin to crawl out of the ground, grabbing the girl by her leg. She quickly combines the two boomerang axes before using the one great battle axe to slice the arm off of her leg. The three quickly group up and prepare to attack before hearing Najenda shout, "Susanoo, evacuate that area at once!" Susanoo suddenly picks up Lubbock and the girl before leaping out of there as the area is nuked with twelve giant water dragons, destroying the undead warriors instantly! They all look over to see a masked man in a military uniform with a raised collar standing in front of two large barrels of water. "Our Imperial Arms users have finally arrived. It seems like the battle is turning further in our favor.", Najenda says as more Imperial Arms users come out to aid them in the battle against Shol's Damned Legion.
