As Dorothea and Leone prepare to battle, the wind blows dramatically around them, picking up the dust and dirt around them and sending it flying across the battlefield. Leone suddenly gets low to the ground like a lion while shouting, "Let's do this shorty!" Dorothea holds her arms up, egging Leone on, while saying, "Come and get it... I'm not moving an inch!!!" Leone scoffs at her claim while shouting, "We'll see about that!!!" She quickly dashes toward Dorothea, aiming to face her head-on as she throws a powerful punch at the young girl. Dorothea catches the attack with her hand as she grins at the lion girl, stopping her in her tracks. "Oh, alchemists don't lie~", Dorothea says to her mockingly before tightening her grip on Leone's hand, trapping her. After Leone screams out in pain, Minazuki looks up at her with a slightly worried look. "I just happen to be the strongest out of all the Wild Hunt members. Don't be deceived by my cute, charming appearance.", Dorothea says mockingly to her. As an evil grin comes across her face, she looks Leone in the eyes before asking, "Are you feeling frightened yet? Hmmm?" She quickly tightens her grip even more before lifting Leone up into the air and slamming her down with all her might, shattering the ground with her body. As she lays there, limp and not moving an inch, Dorothea says, "Oh well, there's no need to rush things. Just sit there like a good girl and watch as your friends meet their end." "You're surprisingly calm, even after having one of your allies cut down so easily.", Minazuki notes as the girl glances over to him. "Akame just got lucky. She might have beat Izou, but now she faces my personal soldiers. There isn't anything left for her but certain death.", Dorothea refutes with a smug smile and a shrug.
Over with Akame, the beetle like soldiers stand before her, menacingly. One of the soldiers lunges at her, prepared to dispatch her swiftly, but is slashed in the back as she dodges past his attack. She goes to pull her blade along with her as she moves, but feels it's snagged on something. When she looks back to her now dead enemy, Akame notices what happened and thinks, "It's body is like some sort of sludge... I can't pull it out!!" Two more soldiers rush her, forcing her to leave her Imperial Arm behind in the enemy's corpse. After falling back, she finds herself surrounded by the enemy soldiers. "So they used the first one as a sacrifice to take away my blade... They had a perfect countermeasure for Murasame hidden up their sleeves.", she thinks to herself as she looks for any way to escape. She notices an opening between the two soldiers standing between her and her katana, but doesn't take it as she thinks, "They sacrifice one of their own to take away my blade, yet leave such an easy to see opening...doubtful. It's clearly a trap. If I try to reclaim it, that's as good as asking for death." "The only way out of this one...is with brute force!!", she thinks to herself as she cracks her knuckles, preparing for a full on brawl. She rushes toward the closest soldier and lands a powerful punch across the beast's face, but it's still standing. It quickly grabs her arm, but is quickly met with a kick straight to the face! The kick is strong enough to force it to let her go before two more soldiers try to aid their stunned ally. Akame back-flips onto one of the soldiers' shoulders before using her powerful legs to launch the beast into the beast next to him, knocking both of them over with one attack. As they fall over, one loses grip on its sword, which flies up into the air. Akame quickly grabs the blade as the last of the soldiers rush toward her, ready to cut her down as a team. As she lands in front of the first of the three soldiers, the beast loses the top of its skull to Akame's new blade before dying. With one swift movement, she passes by the two remaining soldiers, slashing across the point where their slimy torsos meet the hard exoskeleton covered lower body. This causes them to fall into pieces, killing them from all the immediate blood loss. Before she can take a breath and relax, three more soldiers bust out of the ground to attack her all at once. With her heightened assassin reflexes, she quickly reacts to their attempted attack by slicing their limbs off close to their exoskeleton covered limbs, being sure to hit these parts to avoid getting her new blade stuck in their sludge-like bodies. Dorothea looks on in disbelief as her soldiers quickly fall to pieces. She then hears Leone snicker before saying, "Akame, even though she wields Murasame, her skills are not solely dependent on it. When she fights, she will always find and target her opponents' vital areas. You'll see that skill first hand if she ever loses Murasame. Simply put...even without an Imperial Arm, Akame is beyond lethal." Minazuki turns to Akame and says, "Don't let your guard down. There are more of them lurking underground and in the shadows." This causes Dorothea to growl before grumbling to herself, "You Night Raiders are such a pain." She's snapped out of her irritated state when she hears someone say, "Akame isn't the only lethal one!" When she glances toward the source, she sees Leone rushing toward her and barely manages to dodge her ferocious attack. As Leone comes to a skidding stop, she says, "As far as tenacity and toughness go, I have both in spades. Thanks for giving me time to recover. That was pretty nice of you." Dorothea simply snickers as they both enter their battle stances oncemore. "You'd make a better test subject than a rug anyways. I'll need you alive for that, won't I?"
