Chapter Forty Six: Kill the Love

As Wave dashes through the forest, he quickly looks up to Run, who's flying high in the sky, and shouts, "See anything up there, Run!?" "There's a bit of blood, but it seems to be in a spitting pattern! It could be Kurome's! Was she hurt when you last saw her!?", Run exclaims and Wave starts running even faster, using Grand Chariot's full power to dash as quickly as he can after her. "Kurome....you're in such a state, yet you still want to fight your sister this badly!? She couldn't have gone far..! She's got to be fighting somewhere near the Capital. We just need to find the place Akame was talking to me about! We must!! Kurome...I will save you!!!", he thinks to himself before dashing wildly through the forest in search for the girl who took his first kiss.

In a dim, gloomy graveyard, Kurome sits upon a gravestone looking up at the full moon, patiently waiting. She suddenly perks up when she hears the sound of someone walking in her direction and turns her head to see who it is. When she sees who it is, she's ecstatic as she says, "Big Sis! You finally came! I was waiting so long~" "Kurome...", Akame replies coldly as she approaches her sister. Kurome suddenly looks around and says, "This feeling...it's...", but Akame stops her by saying, "Forgive me, a few of my comrades are tailing me. But I've told them not to interfere with our match. If anyone or anything tries to interfere, they'll deal with the situation for us. They understand our resolve and our decision to do this." Kurome just nods before dropping down from the high ground while saying, "So they've come to make sure we settle this on our terms? Fine, as long as they keep to themselves, it won't be a problem for me, Sis." She reaches into her sack of cookies and pulls out one which she holds out in her hand to her sister lovingly as she says, "I brought some snacks. Want one?" This causes the sister to smile before happily taking Kurome's gift and replying with, "Sure. Let's eat." As the two sister sit down for their meal on top of a large wall, Esdeath, Tatsumi, Minazuki and Leone watch on from the shadows. "It looks like they're eating sweets...", Leone says as she peeks her head out from behind a tree. Esdeath and Tatsumi also hide their presences by hiding behind trees while Minazuki is hiding under ground with only his head poking out to see what's going on with his own eyes. "I rarely ever saw Kurome offer any sort of food to anyone. This is the rarest of phenomenons.", Esdeath says as she glances around the corner of her tree to see Kurome sharing her cookies. Tatsumi lets out a quiet sigh before looking down at the ground and saying, "With them acting how they're acting now, you'd never guess they were even enemies...They trust one another that much..." "As of now, there are no other major life forces in the area. I'll alert you all to any presences I sense through the earth.", Minazuki says as he senses every living being in the area that's touching the ground in some way. Leone gives him a thumb up and says, "And I don't smell anything out of the ordinary around or hear anything flying in the sky, so we're in the clear." "It looks like we'll be leaving this all in their hands...", Tatsumi says as he looks to Akame with a worried look. As they share their meal, Kurome says, "This really takes me back, Sis. When we would meet back up, we'd always come here to train together..." "Back then, we were inseparable...you'd drag me along to bathe with you too...", Akame adds with a smile before biting down into another cookie. This causes her sister to giggle before saying, "Drag? Hardly, that was mostly you just wanting to tag along, Sis. You even went to bed at the same time I did. We had the weight of the world on our shoulders back then..but even though we had to endure such pressure, having you there with me made it all worth it in the end, Sis..." Akame nods and replies with, "..yeah.." Kurome sighs and says, "Reminiscing like this sure is calming. Let's stay together from here on out, Sis.", as she looks over to her sister with a grin. "Fine by me.", Akame replies with a smile before glancing over at her sister with a sterner look than usual and adding, "If you come with me, we can go back to the way things used to be." Kurome simply chuckles at her offer before saying, "You never cease to amaze me, Sis. In your current situation, you're in no position to be making demands!" Kurome's loving smile suddenly turns into a cold glare as she says, "If you prove yourself worthy, no matter how strong we may be, I still may be able to find a place for you here! Then we can continue fighting for the Empire! Otherwise, the remorse I feel for everyone who's already died would overwhelm me... Just do the right thing and come back to the Empire, Sis!" "You know I can't do that.", Akame replies coldly, causing Kurome to jump down to the ground, abandoning her snacks and her sister as she says, "I figured as much. Even though I knew you'd say that, I thought I'd try to do this peacefully anyways." As Kurome lands, she takes a few steps away from Akame as she says, "Just how stubborn your will is, to the point that you'd forsake everything, even me. But, fighting to change the world for the sake of others...I've always loved that serious, thoughtful side of you too, Sis..." Kurome sudden grabs her head in pain before turning around to face her sister with a crazed look in her eyes. "I can't forgive you, bit I can't stop loving you..! Those two thoughts keep tearing me apart, Sis!", Kurome exclaims as she holds her throbbing head. She quickly draws Yatsuhusa while shouting, "So I can't let you kill anyone else! I won't let you kill anyone but me, Sis!!!" Akame grits her teeth in frustration, thinking, "I should've better prepared myself for this moment. I knew the odds of Kurome coming back with me were slim, but to see she's fallen this far... Kurome...I'm sorry..." "Before I came here, I took a potent version of the powerful enhancement drug from the Dark Squad. You won't have the luxury of holding back and taking it easy on me like you did when we last fought, Sis!" As Akame drops down to face her sister, she thinks, "She's right. If I hold back even for a moment, she could easily kill me. I have to resteel my resolve." "As of now, we're nothing but mutual enemies. When we battle, I will show no mercy. If you wish to stand down, speak up now...otherwise... Kurome, I will bury you!", Akame exclaims as she prepares to draw her blade. Kurome only grins as she points her blade at her sister, which Akame grits her teeth at before shouting, "Let us see whose resolve will win out!! Come, Kurome!!"
