The days spent at her grandparents went very quickly. So quickly that Dotty was already packing the rest of her things to take to Urk to continue filming Dunkirk for four weeks. She was mid packing her suitcase when her father entered the room with her mother. They sat on the bed whilst Dotty was on the floor rolling her clothes up and placing them into the case.
"Morning, darling," Greeted Emma, "already packing? Unlike you!"
Dotty nodded, "Yeah, I'd rather not rush tonight like last time." She smiled briefly crawling over to her drawers and pulling out some underwear.
"Have you spoken to Fionn at all today?" Asked Chris trying his best to be discrete but checking his nails like a girl would after a manicure, didn't seem at all peculiar. No, not at all!
Puzzled, Dotty's eyebrows knitted together and she looked at her parents oddly, "yes, about an hour ago? Why?"
"Oh, just wondering..."Christopher trailed off staring out fo the window, "Oh for crying out loud! That Candice's kids are putting their rubbish in our bin again!"
He stood up and left the room irritated and the women could only assume that he was going to have a polite word with the next door neighbour.
Dotty looked a her mother expectantly, waiting for an explanation for what her dad was acting so strangely about. "Mum? What's dad acting all weird for?"
Emma chuckled softly, "he's trying to ask you whether you want to ask Fionn if he wants to come with us instead of him driving, as he doesn't live too far from here and well, I'm sure you want to spend some time with him. But, you know your dad, blunt one minute, beats around the bush the next."
Dotty snickered, nodding in agreement with her mothers words, "I'll ask him in a bit, is there anything else?"
Emma shook her head standing up and heading towards the door when they heard Candice Taylor, their rather loud and obnoxious next door neighbour, yelling. "Oh for crying out loud!" Emma sighed and glanced back to Dotty who had resumed packing, "let me know what Fionn says."
"Will do."
The bedroom door closed leaving Dotty to him to herself for a while. She packed all of her clothes, underwear and shoes and was just about to place her electronics in the case when her phone rang. It was Fionn wanting to FaceTime. What a coincidence? She thought.
Answering she propped it against her drawers as she continued to pack. "Hello, again." Fionn smiled as he shuffled around, the sound of sizzling in the background suggested he was cooking.
"Ello." Dotty replied, "I needed to ring you anyway. What's up?"
"I was lonely." Pouted Fionn, looking straight at the lens. "What did you need to ring me for, we spoke only a little while ago?"
"Dad was wondering if you want to come with us in the morning and we'll also bring you home on the way back, save you driving and things? You don't have to, if you don't want to, obviously. It was just a suggestion." She rambled unaware of the amusement on Fionn's face as the girl got flustered over what she was saying.
