Seeing everyone back in costume was a peculiar sight. Despite it only being a few weeks it did feel like much longer since all of the lads were in their costume and back in time to 1940. Admittedly, it did feel strange to be in a different place other than Dunkirk wearing their costumes, but they would get used to it after a few days.
The moonstone scene where the shivering soldier pushes George was in the process that day, but Chris had some things to sort out leaving the cast and the crew to lounge around on the boats for a few hours. The lads had already, practically, dragged Dotty onto the moonstone with them and they were sat around eating some food thy had brought with them.
"I wonder what the others are doing today," Said Cillian, our of the blue as he opened some crisps.
"Fionn said they were going to look around the streets for a bit, and Jack translated that to they're trying to find a bar or pub that you guys can all go to on Friday night." Dotty replied tying her shoe laces.
"What 'bout you?" Tom turned to her, his eyebrows raised.
"What do you mean?"
"You said 'you guys', aren't you coming?"
Dotty shook her head, "I have some work to do, so no."
Barry frowned at her response, flicking some water at her. "What work?"
She shrugged, "just some stuff." The guys left it at that breaking off into another conversation to which Dotty payed no attention to. She don't have any work that she had to do, she just thought they would enjoy a lads night. She fiddled with her French braids, reading at the same one in her phone.
However, her reading was cut short by a text from Anna. The same girl who hadn't spoken to her in over a month, (thank God), so why was she popping up now?
Anna:
I miss you xxx
Dotty scrunched her nose up in confusion, her grey eyes narrowing as she depicted every single letter, space and kiss in the text. What the hell?!
Dotty:
Why?
She replied simply, what else would she reply with? Granted, most people wouldn't have replied to her at all, but not Dotty. Dotty, the girl who believes in infinite second chances. The same girl who would do anything for anyone, but didn't have the money to lend to her that time and other things over a month ago.
It didn't take long for Anna to respond.
Anna:
I realised how stupid I was, how I was taking you for granted, and Nathan. (we're back together btw). I'm sorry, Dotty, friends? Xx
Dotty:
It's okay, and yeah friends x
WHY WOULD SHE DO THAT?! You're probably screaming, and to be perfectly honest, I don't know either. But Dotty is Dotty and that is never going to change at all. She's too kind for her own good. I'm sure you can already tell it's going to bite her in her arse in the future, well, you could be wrong, but that's probably not true. You probably are right.
Anna:
Great! Who is that in your insta pic? x
Ah yes, the Instagram picture. Dotty's first ever picture, the one she and Tom took when they first became best friends way back when. The one where she was sat on his lap, his head on her shoulder, their tongues poking out with their eyes crossed. It's basically, a picture you'd see from an old photo album from 2009, but that made it even more nicer than it was. Neither of them were pouting or looking moody intentionally, it was just them being themselves. A perfect first upload to the app she only ever used to like other people's pictures.
Dotty:
My best friend, Tom x
Anna:
Best friend? I thought I was your bestie?
Dotty:
I can have more than one, don't worry, you still are.
Talking to Anna actually felt kind of...nice? Even when she was going against what her parents had both said, and what Fionn, Tom and Harry had all said too. Yet, Dotty didn't actually realise she was. She just assumed this was okay. It was her choice.
Nobody questioned who she was texting, to be fair, they didn't actually notice what she was doing and if they did, they would have assumed she was talking to Fionn, as they always did.
Her dad called for first take and she returned to the crew boat, sitting down and watching at the take happened. Seeing them argue and push each other and not being playful was strange and it actually made her heart leap. This was totally different to how the boys were in real life and it jut showed how brilliant hey are at acting. It didn't look forced or fake, it looked real- and that was scary- for her anyway.
By the fourth take, Dotty couldn't watch anymore and began to read on her phone, making sure it was on silent before hand. Even the just the sound of them and the waves slapping against the side of the boat still unnerved her to the point she put her headphones in. Arguments were not a comfortable situation for the girl. Any sort of confrontation either was the same. Therefore, Dotty acting this way, even when she wasn't involved herself.
She let songs by Ed Sheeran, One Direction and 5 Seconds of Summer drown out everything going on around her, and her book take her away from reality. Her heart rate slowed back to normal, when it had started race at the sound of Barry, Mark, Cillian and Tom shouting making it beat faster. She hated feeling this way, but then again, there was a lot of things about herself that she didn't like, and she just got in with things in the mean time.
That's what you get for working on a movie set.
