To end the date, Fionn drove Dotty home and found Christopher on the driveway with Emma who had a soaking wet sponge in one hand a bucket in another. Dotty laughed at the sight of her parents before turning back to face Fionn.
"Thank you," she smiled brightly at her boyfriend who leaned back in his seat grinning at the girl in the car with him.
"Don't mention it, love, t'was very fun to spend some time out of either of our houses and not on set. We should do it more often."
"Are you asking me out again, Fionnly?" Dotty smirked an eyebrow cocked and her body now facing him now.
Blushing Fionn looked down and started to fiddle with the hem of his raincoat. "If you want to, Dorothy."
Dotty leaned closer, "Well then, yes I do."
Fionn's eyes flickered down at her lips and back to her right grey eyes that watched him lovingly. His hand cupped her cheek and he gently pulled her closer for a tender kiss that still made Dotty feel the same as the first kiss that they shared. Her ears tinted pink as they pulled away both grinning like madmen, staring at each other like they were the only people in the world.
Their blissful silence was short lived as they heard Chris yell at his wife, "DON'T YOU DARE, EM!"
The couple witnessed Emma approaching Christopher poised ready to throw the soggy sponge at him and Chris backing away with his arms stretched out in front of him.
"I swear I am the only mature one in this family!" Dotty exclaimed, "Look at them! What children!"
"Dot, baby, think back to what happened in McDonald's earlier. I don't think you're the mature one." Fionn chuckled, "That's not a bad thing, 'cuz that means we'll always be Toys 'R' Us kids."
"I never wanna grow up! I just want to be a Toys 'R' Us kid! Kid! Kid! Kid!" Dotty sang making Fionn shake his head in amusement at how excited the girl seemed about a toy shop.
There was a knock on the car window and there stood Christopher who was soaked. Fionn pressed the button to open the passenger side window and smiled at his director. "Afternoon." He greeted.
"Hi, athair." Dotty smiled at her father. "Had a swim?"
Christopher rolled his eyes and looked at Fionn, "Are you staying over, mate?"
Fionn looked at Dotty who shrugged, "You can if you want to."
Fionn nodded, "If that's okay, I will."
"Of course it is, son, I wouldn't have asked if it wasn't." Chris smiled, "Just remember Dotty, everyone is staying for a few days, they'll be here for tomorrow afternoon."
"But who will look after the animals?"
"Gregg and Moira are with Xavier and Quinnie." Christopher told her, "Anyway, I'll let you cool kids do whatever whilst I go change out of these sodding clothes that are drenched with car wash water."
