Tom entered the tent and found Dotty still asleep with Fionn's coat over her but slowly slipping off of her. He adjusted it so it wasn't falling off and peered at her phone which kept flashing on and off from notifications. It was from the group chat they all had, he flicked her phone onto low battery mode as he noticed her phone was only on forty-seven percent and even turned it on aeroplane mode and made the notifications disappear. He noticed how her lock screen was a selfie of her and him pulling a stupid face from the previous week, he smiled at the memory and placed her phone back on the table just as the others came into the tent for a break.
"Is she still asleep?" Fionn asked Tom who nodded. "it's been a few hours, do you think we should wake her up, I'm sure she needs to do some work still." Tom shrugged and the pair crouched down either side of her whilst the others sat at the same table.
Tom lightly nudged her, "Dotty." He said softly, "Time to wake up, love." He nudged her again, swiping the hair from her face, gently, and she mumbled something incoherent.
"Dotty, time to wake up." Fionn tried. She shook her head, "For someone who hates sleep you really don't want to wake up."
"The world's an awful place, I don't want to be in an awful place, I want to be in a better place." They could hear the sadness in her voice, shortly followed by a sniff which indicated she was crying. The blonde boy wrapped an arm around her shoulder pulling her into him and her arms wrapped around him.
"Hey, hey, hey, why are you crying? Don't cry." He soothed as Fionn bounced in a crouching position around to them and rubbed her back. She shook her head not saying anything and the tent fell silent as all of the guys watched with confusion and empathy on their faces. "Do you want your dad?"
She shook her head once more but Fionn turned to Harry and pointed at the exit, "Get her dad." He mouthed. Harry stood up and quietly exited the tent to find Christopher. Tom and Fionn kept hold of the girl as she sobbed her fingers tracing her wrists even though her arms were wrapped around Tom's shoulders. "Have you hurt your wrist?" Fionn asked her as he noticed her fingers.
Dotty didn't reply in any way, instead, she continued to cry with her head buried in Tom's chest. She was off of the chair and Tom had changed into a sitting position with the girl on his lap, Fionn beside him, his coat resting on the chair. It was only minutes until Harry returned with Christopher behind him. The elder man bent down beside his daughter and brushed her hair back showing her that he was there. Dotty let go of Tom letting her father pull her up into his arms and kiss her head. "Sweetheart, what is it?" He asked her quietly. She didn't say anything instead he leaned over and picked her phone up off of the table, Harry, Fionn and Tom had joined the others at.
With one hand supporting his daughter, he used the other to unlock her phone and search for any clues, instantly looking at her messages. He noticed Anna's name being at the top and he clicked on it and read the last ones she had received from the girl. "Is it something to do with Anna?" He asked, not so quietly, his voice showing a hint of anger. Dotty nodded. "Did you ring her?" She nodded again.
Chris tapped a few buttons and found the recordings of her calls, thankful that her phone recorded all calls. He pressed play and held the phone to his ear listening carefully to the call. Once it ended he placed the phone back on the table and pushed his daughter away from his slightly and looking at her in the eyes. "She's a horrid girl. Dorothy, she only wants you for certain reasons, she doesn't see you as a friend and sadly you didn't see that. You don't need her either. Do you hear me, don't let her upset you, she isn't worth it."
Dotty nodded wiping her tears, "I guess you're right."
"Of course I am, Dotty when you get back and she is pining for your friendship because all of her friends are busy or she has messed up or because her needs aren't being fulfilled by any other stupid guy she'll regret doing what she has done. And when she is worrying about who is going to sleep with her next you will be enjoying life and she'll be jealous."
Dotty laughed slightly, "There's that smile, she's probably already jealous because you are prettier and have made new friends much easier than she will ever, and you went from working in Mcdonalds to working on a film set."
"Now you are just being biased because your my dad and gave me the bloody job."
"Of course I am, as a father you are meant to be biased." She laughed once more as her father patted her shoulder and kissed her forehead, "Now, you get something to eat and get back to work in a bit okay? I need to go do some stuff before we go back to filming. I want you with me for a bit okay?" Dotty nodded and waited until Chris left before turning back to Fionn and Tom.
She wrapped her arms around them. "Thank you." She smiled as they chuckled hugging her back. "And thanks, Harry, for going and getting my dad." The three nodded. Tom and Fionn pushed their chairs together and pulled Dotty to sit in between them.
"Are you okay now?" Asked Fionn quietly so that only she could hear when the other started to talk.
"Yeah, I think I am."
"Good, seeing you upset wasn't nice at all. Although, if it means anything, you would totally get the award for prettiest crier." He smirked at her.
"Smooth, Whitehead, real smooth."
