Dotty woke up the next morning to her face being peppered with tender kisses. She groggily opened her eyes and let out a rather obnoxious noise as she stretched awake. Fionn snorted at Dotty who pushed him away and rolled over.

"Who are you and what have you done with Dotty, the woman who doesn't like sleeping?" He asked his voice, husky and deep due to him not waking up too long ago.

"Who are you and what have you done with Fionn who sleeps until midday? I'm tired." Dotty grumbled snuggling back down into her pillow. Fionn rolled his eyes and draped an arm over her waist pulling her body towards him and he nuzzled his nose into the crook of her neck.

Knowing that Dotty was very ticklish eh used their positioning to his advantage and lightly began to tickle the blonde girl. She started to giggle and squeal, rolling around with the duvet ending up on the floor and a floppy-haired Fionn joining it.

"Well, I'm awake now!" Exclaimed Dotty breathing heavily as Fionn stood up, placing his hands on his waist. He stared down at her as she stared up at him. She lifted her arms up and opened and closed her fingers like pinchers.

"Your birthday may be in July but you don't need to have crab pincers, love," Fionn told her even when he knew what she was trying to say. He slid his arms beneath her body and lifted her up and she wrapped her legs around his waist and her arms around his neck.

"I hate that you're even shorter than me now," Dotty whined, "but I like being carried so I guess I'll have to get used to it."

Fionn scoffed, "You will not, lazy arse, you aren't being carried everywhere!"

Dotty gave him a look which said, 'so you think' and pecked his lips.

"Okay, I'll carry you downstairs, only because I just got a kiss from you, but after that, you can use your legs." Dotty smiled triumphantly and as Fionn approached the door, she leaned down and pulled the handle to open it.

Down in the kitchen/dining room, Emma was cooking some sausage when she spotted her daughter being carried by Fionn. She rolled her eyes before greeting Fionn and Dotty as Christopher entered carrying some extra chairs which were in the conservatory.

"Need any help, Dad?" Asked Dotty when she was placed on her feet.

"No, I'm all good, Dotty, these were the last two. Ah, Fionn, I was meaning to as last night, how on earth did Dotty get you to agree to meet the whole family already?" Chris said patting the boy on the back as he passed him.

"We compromised, she has agreed to meet my family at the end of the week, which reminds me, I actually need to tell my dad," Fionn chuckled taking a eat at the table beside Dotty who, somehow, had got them both a drink without him even noticing her leaving his side.

Emma smirked, "Don't scare them then, Dotty."

"Excuse me!" Exclaimed Dotty, offended, "I will do no such thing - will I?" She looked at Fionn with a worried expression on her face.

"No, you won't, they'll love you," Fionn reassured her, placing a hand on her knee and rubbing small circles on it.

Emma had to stop herself from commenting on the cute moment between Fionn and Dotty whilst Chirs just rolled his eyes at the 'youth these days'.

"What time is everyone getting here?" Dotty asked as Emma plated up everyone sandwiches.

"About midday."

"Fun!"

Once every one of Dotty's extended family on her mother's side was in the Nolan residence all attention was on Dotty and Fionn who sat, away from the big crowd, on the kitchen counter.

Bobby, Dotty's maternal grandfather was the first to notice the boy sat beside his granddaughter and nudged his wife. Edith looked at her husband in annoyance but her face softened at the sight of Fionn holding Dotty's hand.

"And who's this, Dotty?" Asked Edith approaching the girl.

Fionn and Dotty both blushed looking down as all eyes turned to them. Dotty's cousins all clenched their jaws and her aunts and uncle's all smirked.

"This is Fionn, our Dotty's boyfriend." Said Christopher as he laid out some lunch on the table.

Emma was dealing out some drinks and she smiled over at Dotty and Fionn. "Come on you two, come take a seat. Now the rest of you, don't be horrible to Fionn." She glanced specifically at her nephews he all simultaneously slumped.

Fionn and Dotty sat near Chris and Emma. Fionn nearest to his director which made him more comfortable than what Dotty's cousins were making him feel.

"So, Fionn, how did you meet Dotty?" Asked Niall, one of Dotty's cousins.

Fionn looked up and glanced at Dotty, "I met Dotty on the set of Chris' movie."

"Really? Are you an extra or something?" Seamus, another cousin, questioned.

Chris chuckled at his nephews question, "actually, he is the lead."

Sebastian, another cousin, stared at the boy in shock. "And you wasn't scared that your boss would fire you for dating his daughter?"

"I encouraged them to be honest," Said Chris, "besides they had been texting without knowing it was each other for a while."

Fionn and Dotty stayed quiet because of the funny looks the girls' cousin was giving the pair. Dotty felt Fionn tense up and she took hold of his hand from under the table, giving it a tight squeeze.

Immediately, Fionn relaxed and nerves were replaced by a wash of electricity running through his veins starting where his hand linked with Dottys. He felt so much better from such a simple action that he was thankful that his face didn't burn up.

"Well, I think that's lovely. Like something from a modern day romance novel; such a beautiful coincidence. And I know you are a lovely young man, because if you wasn't, my Emma would not have you sat in this house right now," Edith smiled at Fionn which also made him feel more welcome.

"Of course he is, Mum, Fionn is a great lad who is genuine and makes Dotty happy. Now can we all eat before this gets cold!" Laughed Emma, "help yourself, Fionn, these boys eat a lot!"

During lunch Dotty listened as her boyfriend and her cousins had a proper conversation and got on really well. Her cousins seemed to have put their prejudgment aside and got to know Fionn and Dotty couldn't help but smile.

Christopher caught her eye, "everything okay?" He mouthed towards her.

Dotty nodded, "everything is perfect."

And she was telling the truth. All was perfect.
