Chase eventually caught up with Skye and turned her to face him. Tears were falling down her face as he pulled her against his chest, in an attempt to calm Skye down.
"I can't believe she'd do that." Skye sniffed.
"I know." Chase stroked her hair.
"Ugh I wish that the ground would open up and swallow me."
"Don't be silly. Come on." He pulled her hand gently and they walked back to class. What they didn't expect to see was everyone yelling at Ashlynne's group.
"Really Ash. That's low even for you!" Celeste snapped.
"Yeah just because you hate Skye for no reason doesn't mean you can steal her song!" Surprisingly, Brianna called out too.
"It has a sentimental meaning to her. Why'd you have to do that?"
Skye watched as everyone who used to despise her and her friends, now defended her honour. She smiled slightly, leaning into Chase's side as he kept his arm around her shoulders. He looked down and smiled back.
"Told ya they don't all hate us anymore."
"I believe you now." She rolled her eyes. "Date night round mine tonight?"
"Yeah."
"Bring blankets and pillows."
"Why?" Chase raised his eyebrow.
"Trust me. It'll be fun." Skye smiled.
"Are we gonna build a blanket fort?!"
"Maybe."
"Best girlfriend ever." He chuckled, picking Skye up and spinning her around in a circle, making her giggle.
The bell sounded, stopping the arguing in the room and signalling the end of the day. Students filed into the corridor and headed home.
"See ya later." Skye smiled to Chase as he left.
"Will do. Love you."
"Love you too."
"Scale of one to ten?"
"Sideways eight."
"Good one."
Rocky rolled his eyes as he heard his sister and Chase.
"Are you two finished?" He smirked, folding his arms.
"Alright who pissed in your cornflakes?" Skye's snapped, getting ready to go.
"No one it's just you two are so soppy." He cringed.
"Well at least I didn't have a bruise on my hipbone, ask my sibling to look for them to discover it was a fricking hickey!" Skye hissed. "I did not need those images in my head!"
"Touché." Rocky nodded.
At six o'clock, Rocky and Skye's doorbell rang.
"Rocky can you get that it's Chase!" Skye yelled. The grey haired boy sighed and opened the door to see a smiling Chase who had a ginormous bag on his shoulder.
"Blimey Chase. You're only staying for one night." Rocky said, closing the door behind him.
"I know. But Skye told me to bring this so..."
"What in gods name are you doing?"
"Stuff. Anyway why aren't you at
Zuma's?""Family thing cropped up. He couldn't get out of it."
"That sucks."
"Tell me about it." Suddenly, Skye's blankets, duvet and pillows all flew down the stairs and onto the hallway floor. The blonde appeared at the top, wearing a loose, long sleeved crop top and a pair of grey shorts.
"Hi Chasey." She called.
"Hey Toots."
"Skye, I'm probably gonna regret asking but what in the blue hell are you two up to tonight?" Rocky gave his sister a deadpan look as she happily jumped her way down the stairs.
"Making a blanket fort, watching movies and eating snacks. Pizza should be here in twenty." She smiled.
"Blanket forts?"
"Yeah." The couple chorused.
"It's so much fun." Skye gave a serious expression.
"Is it?"
"What you didn't like making these as a kid?" Chase laughed.
"No I never made one. Ever." Chase and Skye dropped their things and stared at Rocky in disbelief.
"What? What I say?"
"Screw it. Rocks you are crashing date night and building a fort with us. Grab your bedsheets and let's go!" Skye declared, making her way down into the den.
