The sun was shining down as Skye knocked on Chase's front door, her backpack slung over her shoulder and her new sketchbook under her arm. Chase's mother opened the door and smiled at the girl.

"Hi Skye. You look nice. Come in." Maria smiled. The brunette woman had become like Skye's second mother.

"Chase! Skye's here!" She called up the stairs. Maria turned back to Skye.

"Are you guys going to Marshall's after school. I know it's Savannah's first birthday."

"Yeah I think we will." Skye smiled. " I think Ev might want someone other than Marshall there because, well it's a year since they lost Toby as well." Maria nodded, showing her understanding. Chase appeared in the doorway, dressed in jeans and a white t-shirt, black converse and wearing a pair of sunglasses.

"Good grief." His mother muttered.

"Babe, really? The shades are a bit much."

"Says the one dressed in shorts and a t-shirt." Her laughed as he removed the glasses and left them on the side table.

"The t-shirt's Black so it absorbs heat actually." Skye laughed, rolling her eyes.

"Come on. Don't wanna be late for our first day of our final year." Chase nodded.

"Hold it right there Mister." Maria smirked, holding a camera.

"Oh boy." Chase stopped in his tracks and turned to face his mother.

"Annual first day picture?" She smiled.

"Mum I'm not twelve anymore." Chase groaned but Skye had an idea she playfully jumped up onto Chase's back, piggyback style and leaned her chin on his shoulder. He turned to face her and smiled, There noses touching and eyes half closed. There was a click from the camera, making Chase look away from Skye.

"Mum!"

"Thanks Skye." Maria laughed.

"No problem. Come on Chasey." Skye giggled. The pair made their way to school but just before they reached the gates, Skye told her boyfriend to wait.

"I need to put these on." She produced a pair of black geek style glasses from her bag and put them on.

"Ran out of contacts." She rolled her eyes.

"I never knew you wore them."

"Yeah. I don't tend to because a - not many people know. B - I couldn't when I was a model and C - I don't think they're pretty."

"I think you look amazing." Chase said honestly.

"You say that everyday."

"Because no matter what, no matter how I see you, what you wear, what you do, you are the most beautiful girl in the world to me. I love you Skye. Never forget that." He leaned down and kissed her, bringing a smile to both their faces.

When the two pulled apart, they looked towards the building where in the distance they could see a couple of their friends.

"Ready to conquer the world?" Chase looked down a little to Skye.

"Only If you're by my side." She smiled, intertwining their fingers.
