Hello all! Quick correction, there will be one more chapter after this one before I post the epilogue. This chapter ended up being long enough to split into two so that's what I've decided to do. Enjoy!!
—————————————-Kyleigh's POV
I don't know why, but this person underneath me needs to die. There is no other thought in my mind other than the desire to kill. He's fighting against me, trying to save his own life as I'm attempting to send a jolt of lightning directly into his heart, powerful enough to kill him.
He's begging me not to kill him.
It sounds like he is apologizing to me. Why?
He keeps saying my name. How does this boy know my name? Do I know him? All I know about him is he must die.
I'm fighting against his grip on my arm, trying with all my strength to bring my hand down to come in contact with him to finish the job.
Why does he keep saying my name?
It doesn't matter. He must die. I muster all the strength I can against his grip but he is still desperate to hold on.
Suddenly, I remember something. A small flash of a memory. It's him, the boy before me that I'm trying to kill.
We are standing in front of a house with a moving truck currently being unpacked.
"What is your name?" he asks."Kyleigh," I answer. "Kyleigh Everson."
"I'm Ryan Roberts"
But quickly the memory fades and I'm focus on my mission. Kill him.
Another flash of a memory.
I'm lying on the ground, a mask of some sort covering my face. I'm weak, about to pass out. A blurry figure stands before me. A gasp of shock and surprise escapes his lips as he looks straight at me.
I start blacking out as he reaches to pull my mask off my face. "Wait a minute..." he says.
My eyes are closed as I feel the fabric slide off my head.
"Kyleigh?!" a familiar voice gasps.
Before I drift completely out of consciousness, a single name connects to the voice I heard.
Ryan.
Again, the memory fades away, and I shake the thoughts from my mind. They're unimportant. I must complete my mission here.
He says, "Kyleigh, I don't want to end things this way... I love you."
One more memory flashes in my mind.
-italics We are lying on a blanket together outside underneath the stars.
He is saying, "I've had to learn how to move on. Find something that keeps you sane, and hold onto it."
"And what keeps you sane?" I ask.
"For the past couple months at least... you."
Find something that keeps you sane and hold onto it.
What keeps me sane?
Him.
Ryan.
"Ryan!" Suddenly I remember him. I'm on top of him, holding him down. He's terrified, as if he is about to die. I have no idea how I got in this position; everything is just a blacked out blur. I remember being in M.U.F.F.I.N.S. and Vita showed up. She said my name and suddenly the memory ends.
