With just one week of exams to go you should be excited for your upcoming holidays but your VR system burns constantly in the back of your mind. You've been studying all day every day for the past two weeks with only breaks for food and sleep and it is really getting to you. Yesterday you spent a whole hour staring uselessly at one question in your workbook, brain switched entirely off until your mother set you back on track.
Your dazes have become longer and longer and the stress is causing you to struggle with the most simple questions.
"(Y/N)?" Your mother's voice wakes you from another daze. The piece of paper that sits in front of you is spotless and your pen rests idle in your dominant hand.
"(Y/N)" she repeats, pulling the paper off your desk.
"I can't" you mumble, feeling completely defeated. Your head drops where the paper had been and you lie there.
Your mother's face changes to an expression of concern and she walks out, letting you rest your mind.
You can hear her hushed voice in the other room but can't make out the exact words she is uttering. She must be on the phone.
A minute later she returns.
"Take a break" she suggests. "I'm sorry"
Your mother hasn't given back your VR gear but she has returned your phone which is good enough to keep you occupied during your more frequent breaks.
She has made a study plan for you that will keep you on track as well as being suitable for your mental health. Overall this has improved both your motivation and ability to go through practise exams.
Your final two exams go better than the last few and you finally find yourself leaving your school for the last time as a student there.
Your mother has already put the VR gear back in your room by the time you get home.
"I'm sorry I was so hard on you" you hear from the doorway of your room. Your mother stands there awkwardly. "I guess just after your brother..." she stops and shakes her head "Well all I want for you to do well and succeed in life."
"I know" you murmur.
The computer groans to life as you place the VR gear over your head. Your dark surroundings quickly change to the Mugiwara tribe's base, but not quite as you left it.
The main building in the middle has tripled in height and has been remade out of better material. The individual huts have become more personalised, being painted the colours that the tribe members had picked for them. Your own hut is still rather dull but your loyal crowned Ibak stands calmly outside it, putting his head down to graze every now and then. The saddle that you had requested from SoulKing sits on his back, as promised.
The others have their own tames by their huts and a collection of community tames in the large stable at the base of the main building.
The perimeter of the base has been pushed out and a large double wall protects you from the outside jungle. There are a few places on the wall where you can climb up to watch out for enemies or to shoot at them and you can see that the wall is hollow to walk around in it.
From your discussions with Robin during your free time you know that the outer side of the wall is covered in spikes and the gates are heavily guarded from intruders with scouting tames and defence tames.
