Law wakes you up before the sun can. You take a minute to get dressed in some black pants and a yellow shirt that Law had found for you in the town.
He had already been up for about an hour to make the cabin look like no one had been in it recently. Everything of yours was packed into two backpacks, one each. Your bag is considerably lighter because of the large bruises that remain across your stomach. Your arms have healed well but still need the bandage coverings.
When you walk out of the front door you can see the red glow of the sun over the treeline. The wooden door creaks as Law closes it behind both of you.
It's already warm despite the early hours and you are thankful for the canopy you will be walking under that will shade you from the harsh glare of the rising sun.
"We can't waste time." Law reminds you as he walks forwards, leading you into the forest. You make one step before you are stopped by the clicking of a gun and a light pressure on your back.
You hold back a squeak of fright as you freeze. Law notices you have stopped following him and turns to see you.
He spins around quickly to face you and attack whoever is behind you but stops in his tracks.
"Fufufu" you hear from behind you. Of course it's your father who has his gun pointed at you.
You resist the urge to turn towards him and instead keep your eyes on Law.
The rest of the family emerge from the forest to surround you, guns aimed at Law.
"Hands up Trafalgar." Your father instructs. You can hear the smile on his voice and it makes you feel sick to your stomach. Was he smiling like this when he killed your brother?
Law slowly raises his hands above his head in surrender but you can see in his eyes that his mind is racing, trying to find a way out of this situation.
"Now on your knees." You can see the disgust in Law's eyes as he carefully falls to his knees. Two of your father's lackeys walk forwards to remove the bag from Law and search him for any weapons. One of them removes the gun and tucks it away. When they are content that he doesn't have anything else on him they back off to their original positions.
"You have caused a lot of trouble for me Trafalgar." The smile has left your father's voice. "Killing Vergo, my best employee. And I suppose you've killed Baby 5 and Buffalo as well."
Law's face remains the same, not hinting towards him having any reaction to Doflamingo's accusations.
"It can't have been very easy for you, especially after spending years growing up with them." Your father taunts. Law glares.
Your father grabs your shoulder and turns you around to face him.
"Why is it (Y/N) that when I kill people I'm a monster but you seem to forgive Trafalgar here so easily?"
"You killed innocent people." You spit out.
"No one is innocent in this world." He counters.
"But you didn't have to kill them!" You insist.
"You don't know what you're talking about." His brow has scrunched up in anger at your rebellion.
"I know that Law was only killing those people to protect me."
"Oh so you're on first name basis now?" Your father seems amused. "And you still know nothing about what he did while working for me."
"I don't need to know."
"You're right." Doflamingo looks back to Law. "He'll be dead soon anyway."
His eyes are covered by the extravagant purple sunglasses which makes it difficult to guess where exactly he could be looking.
"Don't do this." You whisper to your father.
"I won't." He replies. "But they will."
The Donquixote family move closer in, cutting off any chance of escape.
You hear Trebol's distinct snotty breathing as he moved further towards Law. Doflamingo is still holding your shoulders so the most you can do is try turn your head to see what is going on. You can see Trebol out of the corner of your eye suddenly lashing out, kicking Law to the ground. You wince as the large man laughs.
Law glares up at Trebol.
"This isn't like you, even as a child you would always fight back." Your father taunts him. "And you have such a hatred for me, it must be killing you that you can't lay a hand on me." He grips your shoulders and turns you back around so you are facing Law, moving you to his left side. He removes his right hand but that doesn't make you feel any more confident about a chance to escape.
"I was going to let everyone get a few kicks in first." Doflamingo says as he reaches into his coat. "But I would rather get this over and done with."
Your eyes widen as your father pulls a gun from his ridiculous pink coat. It's the same gun he used to shoot the vendor at the marketplace only a week ago.
He raises it and points it directly at Law. Trebol moves out of the way, staying close enough that he can quickly grab Law if he tries to escape.
You can see Law's mind racing as he tries to figure out how to escape, eyes glancing around the clearing and finally setting on you.
Just as Doflamingo is about to fire the gun you duck out of his grip and ram yourself into his arm, pushing the gun so the shot misses. The orange and yellow haired lady shrieks as the bullet lands beside her foot, embedding itself in the ground.
"Oi, (Y/N)!" Your father yells, rage echoing through the clearing. He grabs your bandaged forearm and you yelp in pain. Doflamingo stops and looks at your arms, noticing the bandages for the first time. His grip loosens.
"What happened?"
"Vergo."
Everyone is quiet. Your father's expression is unreadable behind the purple sunglasses.
"Come on Doffy, let's kill Trafalgar and get it over with!" Trebol exclaims. Doflamingo doesn't take notice of the large snotty man.
"Law has been helping me recover." You say quietly, keeping your father distracted from the restless Donquixote family who are itching to kill Law.
Doflamingo sullenly studies your arm.
"We're leaving." He orders sternly to employees.
Trebol starts stuttering protests, stumbling towards you and your father.
"This is not up for discussion." Doflamingo insists.
Slowly and begrudgingly they leave so it's only you, your father and Law who remain in the clearing.
"Get home by tomorrow, your mother is worried sick." Doflamingo says. He hardly spares a glance at Law. With a swish of his pink feathered coat he leaves.
Law stands up from the ground, shocked into silence from your father's decision.
"You saved my life." He murmurs.
"It's nothing compared to what you have done for me." You reply.
He reaches out and pulls you into a hug, nestling his head into the crook of your neck. You return the hug and stand in the rising sun together.
"I'll call Sanji and we can get you home."
