The first thing you notice when you wake up is that your seat bones and back are aching. The second thing you notice is that your arms are tied behind your back and your ankles are tied to the legs of the chair you are sitting on.
"Wakey wakey (Y/N)." You hear your father. You look up to see him grinning down at you. "I'm sorry for knocking you out but I didn't want to injure you if you put up a fight."
You glare at him but don't reply. The concrete floor is cold and the broken windows don't exactly help. It doesn't feel like Summer in here and you recognise it as the creepy part of town where you first saw Vergo.
"This is pretty pathetic for an evil lair." You comment.
"Oh don't worry, the place we actually work is much nicer and I'm sure you will enjoy it too."
"But instead I'm in this cold broken place tied to a chair. Thanks for that by the way. Nice father daughter bonding time."
I'm going to get myself killed if I keep this up. You think but your father just laughs.
"I'm a professional, I know what I'm doing."
"You don't look like one." With the fluffy pink coat and oddly shaped sunglasses he looks more like a circus freak than someone who works in organised crime.
"You'll get used to it." He replies. "Also calm down with your snappy attitude young lady, you're about to meet the rest of the family."
You glare at him as he turns the chair right around so you can see the so called 'family'. They all stand their dramatically in their own weird circus freak clothes. You can't see Vergo anywhere luckily but you recognise the woman who met with him at the grocery store. She is wearing a maid costume now and you notice the whole group are trying to be as intimidating as possible.
"Were you guys really just standing behind me the whole time while we talked? I didn't even hear any of you, how long have you been practising?" You question. You aren't sure where this attitude came from but you do know that this is the worst time for it to kick into action.
"She doesn't look scared." A creepy old woman comments. Half of her tall curly hair is yellow and the other half is orange.
"The only thing I'm scared of is your double chin." You reply. The woman gapes at you, her double chin turning into a triple.
"How dare you, I am a work of art!" She exclaims.
"Jora please." A gross old man whines. His long black hair looks greasy and huge clumps of snot run down over his mouth.
"Trebol! She insulted me, me! We should just take care of her the way we did the other one." You flinch at that, glancing up at your father to see his reaction. He is frowning at the narcissistic woman.
"No." He says firmly, glaring at this Jora lady until she backs down. Another tall man then steps up. He has long brown hair and two red stripes running over his eyes and down to his chin.
"Admit it Doffy, the biggest problems for us always come from your blood." Most of the other family members stare at him in shock while two others, including snot-man, nod in agreement.
"Are you suggesting." You haven't heard your father sound this angry before. "That there is something wrong with my family?"
"Well first your brother, then your son and now your daughter. All of them have caused problems for us, it can't just be a coincidence." The man replies, recoiling slightly at your father's anger.
"What Diamante means is that we are your family." The snot-man Trebol blubbers, stepping in front of Diamante so he can take the heat. Your father looks down on you. He has his hands on your shoulders in an almost protective way.
