Jai's POV
When I returned home from school, my mind was already overflowing with thoughts. I felt frustrated. And why the hell did Trisha friend ask me to fuck off! God! Girls are complicated sometimes.
I had to go to tution in an hour, so I took a quick bath to freshen myself up. When I came back from the bathroom, I found my phone flashing. I realised that Kanak was calling me. I picked up the call without thinking much and said Hello.
"Jai! We can work this out, please."
"I know, but right now I gotta go to my tution classes," I said in a hurry.
I could hear Kanak inhaling deeply on the phone, then she said,
"For God's sake, prioritise me sometimes!"
Now this is what I didn't like about her. I needed to study, my parents had been so proud of me because of my grades and I can't let them down, not like this!
"Message me when and where. I'll be there," I said in a normal tone and hung up.
I told mom that I'd be skipping tutions today, she was fine with it and I didn't feel guilty, anymore.
I dressed up in a white t-shirt and a checked over-shirt quickly and paired them with an amazing pair of dark jeans. I looked pretty normal when I looked in the mirror until I folded the sleeves of my over-shirt. Then I looked hot. Riya's gonna be jealous.
"You're going out with that Kanak, right?," Riya asked sheepishly as I was searching for my watch which I found on the table in the living room.
                              "Yeah! So?"
                              "She's mean."
"Tell me about that," I said sarcastically.
"By the way, I'm looking hot, right?" I asked her half smilingly, half teasingly.
"You're looking like a piece of shit," she said not raising her eyes from her book. I chuckled.
                              "Thanks, Riya!" I said.
                              "Anytime, bro!"
"Where's Danny? Has he left? He didn't even meet me!"
"He has gone to meet one of his friends at the venice park, he's gonna go to the airport straight from there."
I recieved a message from Kanak asking me to meet her at INOX! She wanted to talk about all that commitment stuff in a freaking cinema hall? Talk about it!
I thought of calling Danny but didn't.
When I reached at INOX, I saw Kanak already waiting for me. She waved at me when she saw me, I waved back and started moving towards her. She looked beautiful as always and I could feel that she had been crying a lot by looking at her dull eyes which were usually sparkling. She gave me a faint smile when I came near her, I gave her a fake smile too, 'cause why not?
She bought us tickets to this new romantic bollywood movie. Ugh!
"I thought you wanted to talk," I said while we were entering the semi-dark hall.
"I want you to forget my mistakes, Jai!" she said looking straight into my eyes, her eyes showed no guilt, no pain, just paleness.
I blinked my eyes twice at her false apology, neither accepting it nor denying it.
"Imma get something to eat, there's still time for the movie to start," I said as I looked for an excuse to miss most of the movie.
She nodded. Then I left. Later did I realise that I left my wallet and phone with her. Shit!
Never mind, I thought that I could meet Danny on time if I went to the Venice Park now! It was just 6:30 and his bus was supposed to be leaving at 7:15 or something. I quickly went back to the hall, told Kanak about how I wanted to meet Danny, she told me that he called and she was quite upset with me for leaving her, but she still laughed at the funny movie scenes. I didn't trust her, at all.
I collected my phone and wallet from her and went to the Venice Park by a bus. It was a short distance till there. When I reached there, it was already a bit dark but not so much. I found Danny but I saw him hugging a girl, I could only see the girl's back. So his friend was actually a girl! Woah! Danny's got a girlfriend!
I waved at him! When he looked at me, still hugging the girl, his expressions changed to that of shock. I thought he'd be surprised. He then released the hug and the girl looked at me.
                              Trisha's POV
I was in so much pain and couldn't control my tears, I had already cried a lot in front of Danny. The thought of Kanak and Jai together, made me feel weak and so helpless. Danny pulled me closer and hugged me, it felt so good having a friend like him, I was surely gonna miss him when he'd go to Mumbai. My tears were endless, I felt embarrassed at first but I trusted Danny.
"I'm sorry Trisha, I'm so sorry," he whispered.
My voice choked so I just hugged him back.
Suddenly, his muscles tensed and he let go of me. I looked at him and saw his face which was so shocked! What had he seen? I followed his almost black eyes and looked behind me, I found the reason for my tears. I stood there motionless for a second looking at Jai whose expressions showed that he was confused. Damn, he looked hot in that outfit! But I couldn't face him. I just couldn't.
