Chapter 5

Once the triad arrived at the beach they searched for a rather secluded spot to spread out their blanket. 

They undressed and Scott immediately opened the portable cooler that held drinks and food. "Is anyone else feeling hungry after the little shopping spree we just had?"

"Always. We packed cheese and grapes, didn't we? And could I have some water please?" Mitch asked.

Scott, who was just unloading everything, nodded. "Of course" he said, handing him the water first. "We also have sandwiches and those mini salami which Avi loves so much." He spread everything out on the blanket and grabbed a sandwich for himself.

"That was nice" Mitch said after he had finished the last piece of cheese. "Now I just want to roast in the sun for a while. He fished for the sunscreen and began to apply it.

"Do you need some help?" Avi asked with a smirk on his face. "With the back?"

Mitch giggled. "Yes, thank you." Once he had his chest, arms and legs covered in sunscreen, he laid down and closed his eyes when he felt Avi's strong hands not only applying the cream, but giving him a quick but thorough backrub at the same time. "You're amazing, thank you" Mitch mumbled. "I would return the favour, but I'm so relaxed..."

"Don't worry, Dear" Scott returned. "We'll take care of one another. You take a nap if you want to."

"Will you wake me up if I really fall asleep? Don't want to burn my skin..." Mitch asked. 

"Of course, don't worry." Avi leaned down and pecked Mitch's neck before he turned back to Scott to help him apply the sunscreen. 

Mitch drifted off into a light slumber, loving the feeling of the warm sun on his back. Some time had passed when he felt someone touching him, kissing his shoulder. "Mmhm..." 

"Mitchy?"

"Yes?" He cracked an eye open and was met with Avi's smiling face. 

"Do you want to go into the water?" 

"Mmhm, why not?" Mitch returned, sitting up slowly. "This nap was amazing." He stood up and looked at Scott. "Aren't you joining, Scotty?" 

"No, you just do you, I stay here, I'm warm and comfy and I've got my book" the blonde replied. "You just have fun. Maybe I'll join you later."

"Okay" Mitch replied, ruffling through his hair, before he took Avi's hand and went towards the water with him.

"You need to go first, Honey, tell me if it's warm or cold" Mitch stated, causing Avi to chuckle. 

"Of course, Love." He slowly went into the water, nodding at his boyfriend. "Nice and warm."

Mitch followed him and sighed when he felt the water softly moving around his ankles. He followed Avi in deeper, until they were in to their knees. Avi was going in further, when Mitch suddenly squealed and jumped back.

"Are you okay?" Avi asked. 

"There was something at my knee, I felt it!" Mitch looked around trying to find whatever it was. 

Avi just sighed and pointed to the buoys right in front of them. "These are grounded with ropes I felt it around my feet as well" he explained patiently. 

Mitch looked at the buoy and then back at Avi. "Okay..." he said. "Could've been the rope. I just... hate it when I feel anything in the water I cannot explain."

Avi smiled. "I know. But you're fine here" he said.

"Yes?" Mitch asked. "Will you protect me?"
