Chapter 22

A few days later, Scott, Mitch and Avi were getting ready for their appearance at the GLAAD awards. It would be their first real outing since they made their relationship official. They had been at Jimmy Kimmel's late night show, but only to perform and briefly talk about their music. 

Mitch was still taking a shower while Scott and Avi were already finished with that and lounged on the sofa, waiting for Nicole who would take care of their hair and make-up for the night. 

"Do you want coffee or a snack?" Avi asked. 

"Coffee would be amazing" Scott returned. "And a snack... what do we have? I'd go for something light..."

"We still have some grapes left. So those with a slice of cheese?" Avi offered. 

"Wonderful. You need help?" Scott asked. 

"No, you just stay there and relax, after all you need to perform tonight and I get to watch." The bearded man winked at his boyfriend and left him to go to the kitchen. 

Scott was just getting comfortable on the sofa when he heard the doorbell. "I'll get it" he called as he jumped up to let Nicole in. "Hi, Girl!"

"Hey, Scotty" Nicole greeted him back as she went inside and set down her equipment, before she hugged the blonde tight. "How are you?"

"Very good" Scott returned. "Excited for tonight."

"I bet you are. Now... where do we start?" Nicole asked.

"Coffee?" Scott asked with a grin on his face. "I mean there's not that much to do for you..."

"That's true, but Mitch wanted a little something, at least this is what he told me..." Nicole explained. 

"Of course he does" Scott returned. "And I bet he will end up looking fabolous."

Nicole chuckled. "I will do my very best" she stated. "anyway, what's new?"

"nothing, really, since Tuesday" scott returned. "I mean... We got bad news yesterday regarding our bed... They are having problems with the mattress so we won't get it next week as it was planned. The delivery is postponed for now."

"oh no that's awful" nicole said.

"it is, but we can make it work for another week or two... After all were sleeping in my bed and I'm the only one with back problems so... It's more than bearable" scott explained.

"I bet it is" nicole said with a wide grin on her face. "it could be worse than having two men in your bed each night... to cuddle"

Scott blushed even a little bit at that comment, but he was saved by avi who joined them with a tablet full of coffee and snacks. "Hi, Nicole" he greeted her happily. "I brought coffee, cheese and grapes for everyone."

"thanks avi" nicole said. "talking about everyone... where is mitchy?"

"still in the bathroom" scott replied. "you know how he needs his time and routines when getting ready for an event. He'll join us once he's ready."

"that's true..." nicole grabbed a mug of coffee. "and I can still start with you. It's not that much, but your hair and just a little bit of concealer and stuff to make you look perfect..."

"I'm planning on leaving my hair open, so if you can maybe make it stay in place?" Avi asked.

"Of course" Nicole replied, taking a huge sip of his coffee. "You know that I have my ways. Shall we start with you then?" She got up and pointed at the chair she had sat in. "Take a seat."

"Sure" Avi replied and smiled at the red-haired woman as he sat down. 

"Okay. I'll just wet it a little bit so we can get it to curl a bit better and then I'll put just a little product in to create a little volume and to make it stay in place, alright?" Nicole said as she got to work. It didn't take her long until she was finishing Avi's hair off with a little bit of hairspray. "And... that's it. Once you're all dressed up, I might go in with some more hairspray, but for now you're finished. We'll do a dose of powder as well then, alright?"
