Chapter 24

In the end they needed three run throughs to perfect their performance. Afterwards, they made their way back into their dressing room to enjoy a few minutes to themselves before their interview.

Mitch immediately let himself drop down on the sofa and let out a deep sigh. "Oh it's so good to be alone..." he mumbled. 

Avi looked at Scott questioningly, but the blonde just shrugged his shoulders. "You okay, Mitchy?" He therefor asked softly. 

Mitch looked up and nodded. "I just enjoy the quiet right now after the craziness that had been the red carpet..."

Avi chuckled. "Well, ask me, I came into this day thinking I would be smiling for the cameras, assisting my lovely boyfriends during their interview and performance and now I did a last minute arrangement to perform on the gala..." He dropped down next to Mitch and smiled at him. "But I wouldn't have it any other way. Making music with you so much nicer than just watching you..."

"Agreed" Scott said as he sat down next to Mitch. "If people are going to be just half as touched as I was when we sang for the first time..."

"I know..." Mitch leaned his head on Scott's shoulder and took Avi's hand. "Tonight is going to be amazing... Well once we get this interview over with."

Just in this moment, there was a knock on the door.

"Come in" Mitch called out.

The door opened and Emily stepped in. "Hey there" she greeted. "You ready for the interview?"

"Sure" Scott returned. "Are we going to stay here or go to another room?"

"Oh we can definitely do it here" Emily said. "All we need is Joel over here on the camera and me who's going to ask you all the questions."

"Didn't know you were a journalist..." Mitch stated.

"Well, here at GLAAD we all do different things. I mainly work as a journalist taking care of the webpage and I write stories, but at the events and everything I help out wherever I can" emily explained while Joel was setting up the camera. "So what we're going to do now is just talk a little bit about you and your relationship, I have prepared a few questions but all I just want us to have a conversation. If you're uncomfortable with anything just say the word and we'll skip it. Also just a quick notice, we're going to film this cut it and put it on our website, if you're alright with that."

"Of course, that's what we planned anyway" Mitch returned. "So let's just do it."

Emily sat down on a chair and took her little notebook. "Whenever you're ready..."

Mitch looked at his boyfriends. "I am" he said with a smile on his face. "Let's do this!"

"So, I am here tonight backstage at the GLAAD awards with Mitch Grassi, Scott Hoying and Avi Kaplan who you might know from Pentatonix and Superfruit" Emily started off. "But tonight it's not about music, as you know, at least not solely. It's about love and acceptance. And who else is capable of talking those two things over with than three men, happily in love with one another. So... how are you?"

"Very good, thank you very much"  Avi replied. 

"So, you're just having your first official outing as a triad, how does it feel?" 

"It feels good" Mitch said. "I mean this is who we are, we're so in love and yeah... this truly is our happiness."

"Yeah. I mean we've been on a few dates and we held hands in public, but here on an official event... it's something else. I feel like everyone was watching us, but not in a bad way. Not the way it was... before with the paparrazzi..." Scott explained.
