"When is everyone coming, Love?" Avi asked as he stepped out of the kitchen onto the patio where Mitch was setting a table for six.
"In fifteen" Mitch replied as he put the last glass on the table. "Do you need any help?" He asked as he looked up. "I'm finished."
"Me too, Mitchy. The salads are in the fridge, the meat is marinating and yeah..." Avi shrugged his shoulders. "We're done."
"Good" Mitch grinned back at him.
"Hmm?" Avi hummed questioningly and giggled when Mitch pulled him in.
"There still is some more time..." the smaller man concluded. "For me and my fiancé." He leaned in and kissed him lovingly.
"Such a wonderful idea..." Avi mumbled with a smirk on his face. He returned the kiss and slung his arms around him, pulling him even closer.
After a while their lips parted again and the men looked at one another. "Where did this come from? Not that I am complaining, but..."
Mitch shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know, but seeing you and the ring on your finger and mine..." He smiled slightly. "Even if it's been two weeks, I just feel closer to you and Scotty..."
"What about me?" Scott joined them with a huge smile on his face.
Mitch smiled at him. "Just your two loves being sappy" he replied.
"Oh nothing special then" Scott joked back. "I just wanted to ask if you need some more help?"
"Nope, we're good. Wouldn't make out unless we were all set" Mitch replied. "Plus, our guests will be here any minute..."
A week after their engagements, they had invited Kevin with his little family and Kirstie with her husband Matt for a little celebratory barbeque. They had told their parents, of course and also posted a picture on their intertwined hands with the rings. The echo was huge, most people were happy for them and supported them as fiancés. The few haters were ignored, as always. Mitch, Scott and Avi didn't care for worried mothers who feared that they would be a bad influence for their poor children. It wasn't really nice, but they couldn't do anything about it other than being themselves regardless.
"They will be" Avi replied. "I actually heard a car... and whoops, there's a crying baby." I'll let them in." He hurried inside the house and opened the front door. "Hello, come on in..."
"Thank you" Leigh, who was just taking Leila from Kevin said. "She's hungry again, I need to feed her real quick, then she'll be ready for her uncles."
"Alright" Avi replied. "If you need space and quiet, feel free to go upstairs into one of the bedrooms."
"Thanks, but the living room is just fine, if you don't mind?" Leigh replied as she walked inside the house.
"Not at all, you do you" Avi replied.
Kevin looked after his wife, before he turned to his best friend. "Hi..." he greeted simply and engulfed him in a bro hug.
"You look dead tired" Avi commented.
Kevin shrugged his shoulders. "Slept on a mattress in Leila's room tonight so Leigh could finally get a full night's sleep. Sorry if I am incoherent today..."
"Don't worry" Avi replied as the two men went inside the house. "Do you want a cup of tea? Or coffee?"
"Tea would be lovely. You have green, don't you?" Kevin asked.
"Of course" Avi replied. He led his friend into the kitchen past the living room where Leigh was sitting. "What about Leigh?"
"She usually likes a cup of chamomile tea..." Kevin explained. "But I'll ask her real quick."
