Esther looked back up at Kirstie. "No..."

Kirstie shrugged his shoulders.

"Is there anything else? Do we know what happened and where?" Esther asked. "We need to do something."

"I could drive out there and see what happened?" Matt offered.

"We don't know where they are" Esther argued.

"They will be somewhere between their house and here" Kirstie replied. "So... it's actually a good idea. Please be careful and call me immediately. Esther and I will stay here and care for Mitch and-" Kirstie stopped when Mitch's phone rang. She accepted the call immediately, because it was Scott's number.

"Hello?"

"Kirstie? Is that you? Where's Mitch?"

"With Avi..."

"Urgh, I didn't really plan on sending the message, I wanted to add that neither of us is hurt, but I slipped."

Kirstie chuckled lowly. "This was probably the worst timing ever, Scotty. Jesus, we were scared."

"I'm sorry..."

"It's okay, I'm happy that nothing bad happened. But tell me quickly, what happened and where are you?"

"We're five minutes from the location, at the junction with the little café we went to. Another driver came from the other street, turned right, didn't see us and crashed into us. Luckily Dad saw him and dodged most of it, who knows what would've happened if he didn't..."

"But he did, Scotty" Kirstie replied. "Now... what's next? Shall I sent Matt to pick you up?"

"Would be lovely. The car will be towed away, police are taking care of everything else. Will you talk to Mitch and Avi? I need to complete my statement real quick..."

"Of course, Scott. Matt is on his way, we'll take care of everything. I'll see you later."

Mitch didn't really remember how he made it into Avi's arms after he had read the shocking message from Scott. He only knew that the familiar smell of his fiancé's perfume helped to calm him down at least a little bit. The two lovers held on to each other, not saying anything.

"He..." Mitch spoke up after a while. "He texted, so it can't be that bad, right?" He looked at Avi questioningly.

"Yes..." the bearded man answered. "At least that's what I hope, Mitchy..."

"Mitch? Avi?"

The two men turned to Kirstie, who approached them rapidly. "Come on." She ushered them into the room Avi had used to wait. "Scott just called. Everyone is alright, it's just the car, nothing else."

"Where is he?" Mitch asked immediately, the relief evident on his face.

"Not far from here, Matt is picking them up right now and Esther is informing the guests about the delay" Kirstie explained patiently.

"Good..." Avi replied. "That's good." He chuckled in relief and shook his head. "Damn, for a moment I was really scared for him."

"Me too" Mitch replied. "I just want to hug him so tight. once he's here. I..." this was the moment he broke down. He started to sob quietly, tears running down his face. "We... we could've lost him!"

"We didn't, Mitchy" Avi replied as he took a handkerchief and carefully dabbed the tears away from his cheeks, careful to not smudge his make up. "He's on his way here and we will get married today."
