Chapter 50

It's now the end of January and River is officially a month old. Time is flying. Today we're off to my mom's place to visit the baby then Jack, the kids and I are headed off to Omaha for his high school reunion   I didn't really have to go but it'll be nice to spend some time with Katherine and David so we're tagging along.

It was still pretty early. Jack and the twins were downstairs along with Noah, while I was upstairs with River. She was sleeping in the bassinet while I finished packing all the suitcases.

"Hey" Jack called out as he entered the bedroom and peaked into the bassinet

"Hi" I smiled then returned to counting socks to go in each suitcase.

"So" he walked in and laid in the bed as he pulled out his phone

"What can I help you with Jack?" I asked as I stopped counting

"I was just wondering if you've been on your phone today?" He asked and I furrowed my brows

"No. I haven't had time. Why?" I said as I folded the last shirt

"Well because this is all over the internet" he said as he handed me his phone

"You've got to be kidding me! Is this a joke?" I asked and he shook his head

"No it's not. Does your mom know? Well of course she does but like do you think she knew?" He asked

"I doubt she knew Tristan was cheating on her and if she did that's not any of my business... I'd like to think that she has more self respect than that" I sighed. I couldn't believe it. Tristan was the last person that I thought would ever pull that kind of thing on my mom. I was incredibly disappointed.

"Do you still want to go over?" Jack asked and I nodded

"Yeah, the kids want to see her and Tristan is in New York for a game anyway" I shrugged as I zipped the last suitcase shut.

"Alright changing the subject... Sammy and Johnson are flying with us right?" I asked him as I laid down next to him and he wrapped his arm around me.

"Yeah they'll meet us at the airport" he said and I nodded

"As much as I love this we should get downstairs make sure the kids don't wreck the place" I laughed. I was only half kidding, there was a good possibility of that happening

"We should get a nanny" Jack suggested as I picked River up and he grabbed the first load of suitcases

"A nanny?" I asked and he nodded "I don't know I prided myself on not having any help" I said as I cautiously walked down the stairs

"Understandable but sometimes help is needed. It would be nice to have someone to help" he finished then proceeded to get the next set of suitcases while I thought about his proposal.

"I don't know. Call me old fashioned but I'd like to raise my own kids" I shrugged sarcastically

"No one is saying that they'd be doing all the work but I little help here and there would be good" he suggested and he was right.

"Yeah I'll think about it" I kissed his cheek and walked to the living room

"Hi babies" I called out as I gave them all a kiss on the cheek

"Good morning mommy" Olivia said as Aidan had his face full with something..

"Okay we're going to head to Koko's house then we're going on a plane" I said and they cheered. They loved planes.

Soon enough all the suitcases were in the car along with the kids. We were all on our way to my mom's house now.

"Okay guys be on your best behaviour and remember inside voices" I reminded them and they nodded and Jack and I got out and let the twins out. Jack took River's carrier and I took Noah on my hip.
